Exceptional condition, clear USA Tennessee title

1971 Fiat 850 Special

This is a mega rare Fiat 850 Special. imported by me from Italy to Tennessee in September 2012. It is in wonderful. running and cosmetic condition considering it is 43 years old!!!

I have brought it with me to California recently but have not yet titled it locally and will come with clear Tennessee title in my name.   I have imported this legally with all fees. importation paperwork etc completed and car bears a clear Tennessee title. I believe (but cannot guarantee) that car should be able to be titled and registered in California easily. if so desired. without need for emissions certificate given that it is 43 year old.

I have had the engine rebuild (with Fiat parts purchased from Mr. Fiat in Atlanta) and it runs great.   The white paint is reasonable with signs of aging (not show quality). and has had a respray by Italian owner prior to my purchase. I have purchased it from an Italian policeman and spent close to $5000 to ship it here in a closed container (with customs and importation fees and sales taxes upon entry into TN). Interior is red vinyl and looks original and fantastic for a 43 year old car. I have not done any other major work on the car.

While there are obvious sings of aging. this is an unmolested car. Here is a brief overview of the car:

Drivetrain - carbureted engine (2 bubble carburetor was an upgrade from the 850 plain sedan with more power for the 850 Special). Car starts and runs well. holds idle well. drives straight. 4 speed manual transmission works well without any issues. I have not had any work done on the transmission. suspension. etc  other than the engine rebuild. Tires are worn but hold air very well.

Body - original straight body. few dings and scratches. no rust. paint has had a respray by previous owner. shows some wear but overall reasonable. There are signs of age and superficial corrosion at joining areas.

Electricals - most work well. eg lights and turn signals. cluster lighting. brakes. etc. The hood cable end broke and will need replacement (I have and will include cable); you can open hood by pulling end of wire with pliers. Battery holds charge well (I have replaced battery once when car imported and holds charge ever since). Fan works but heat does not. Windshield wipers work but washers to not.

Interior - red vinyl in awesome (I believe original) condition. Seats are straight and supportive. vinyl in good condition. some signs of wear here and there. Interior is reasonably clean but I have not detailed every inch!

This is an awesome car with clear US title. While I have seen Fiat 850 sedans for sale from time to time. an 850 Special has come along very rarely!!! If you wish to make it into a show car you will need to paint it and detail it but otherwise it will not need much else.

I prefer prompt contact. payment and pick up after auction's end. otherwise I will assume you are not serious and car will be offered to the next buyer.
