JAGUAR XJ6 4.2 AUTOMATIC SALOON - OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL CAR !!

The Series 3 XJ6 arrived in 1979 with body by Pininfarina and fuel injection for the 4. 2 XK engine. which increased power. torque and economy. Although the car looked more modern than the S2. the styling was unmistakably Jaguar and these cars sold remarkably well for a 20 year old deign. Even when the XJ40 arrived there was still strong demand for the last of the S3 models and it would only be a few years before Jaguar designers reverted to the “retro-curvaceous” looks of the S3 for the X300 models.

This car is a 1986 Jaguar XJ6 4. 2 saloon in Rhodium Silver with Isis blue leather interior. The mileage is correct at just 81. 00 and although this S3 has been used and enjoyed it would easily pass for 30k miles. such is the condition. The body and underside are virtually perfect. The interior is unmarked and on the road this Jaguar drives quite simply like a new one.

We first bought this car in 2012 form the second owner. a JEC member who cherished the car for 16 years and kept a detailed written history showing very comprehensive servicing based on time rather than mileage and additional maintenance was carried out to a seemingly obsessive level. We then sold it to an equally “particular” Jaguar enthusiast who has improved it with £2k plus worth of further spending including refurbishment of the pepper pot alloys. replacement headlining. new wood veneer dashboard. various detail jobs and two further engine services. It is worth noting as you read through the history; this XJ has had an oil change on average every 1500 miles! There is also a stamped service book accompanying the history file. It comes with original Clarion stereo. sales brochure. dealer pack. heritage certificate some new spares and three sets of keys. Matching Pirelli P6000's are fitted.

There is also a copy of the Classic Car weekly “Tested” article from when we last advertised this car – “this XJ is almost flawless to look at. The panel fit defies criticism…there's not even the slightest hint of corrosion or even tarnishing on the bright-work…to look at the the drivers seat you'd think the previous owner had somehow hovered over it…. etc etc.

As the value of some classics spirals out of control. the XJ6 and in particular the S3 offers almost ludicrous value for money. This is one of the best on offer. as you may have gathered by now we are particularly keen on it and had no hesitation buying it back when it was offered to us.
