The Porsche 964 is the company's internal name for
the Porsche 911 manufactured and sold between 1989 and
1994. Designed by Benjamin Dimson in 1986. it featured significant
styling revisions over previous 911 models; most prominently. the
more integrated bumpers. It was the first generation 911 to be
offered with Porsche's optional Tiptronic automatic
transmission and all wheel drive as options. Porsche
chose to re-use the 3. 3 litre engine from the 930 with several
minor revisions that made the engine smoother. less prone
to turbo lag and more powerful with a total output of
320bhp at 5750rpm.

The 964 Turbo is considered to be one of the prettiest 911's
built and certainly one of the more powerful. As with any Porsche
however. the pitfalls in buying one are manifold and the unwary can
end up with bills far exceeding their expectations. One of the most
respected specialists that produce independent reports is Peter
Morgan; his hugely detailed documents can be relied upon to tell it
how it is with no stone unturned. He even measures the thickness of
the paint. All over.

His report can be found in the comprehensive history folder
accompanying this car. He goes on to say that the paintwork showed
no obvious signs of damage and that. upon further inspection. the
underside and engine also showed no damage or corrosion beyond
slight surface rust on the exhaust system. Brakes. tyres and wheels
are all in good condition. the latter being optional split-rim
items. The car was originally specified to come with
air-conditioning. on-board computer and power steering; all of
which work well. MoT test certificates dating back to 1996
substantiate the mileage as well as service stamps starting from
new at Parkwood Porsche then moving to H. R. Owen in 1997 and on to
Lancaster Porsche in 1999. GT One took over in 2007 and remain the
dominant service agent to this day; the last service taking place
just 425 miles ago.

The paperwork displayed within the car's file is legion and
corresponds with an equally well presented and straight Porsche.
For peace of mind. for quality and for performance. look no
further.
