This example continues to be powered by its original 283ci V8 (EG code) producing 270 horsepower through dual Carter WCFB carburetors mated to a 4-speed manual transmission! The story with this car as we know it dates back to 1987 when two South Carolina brothers. believed to be twins. decided to buy matching Corvettes. When one brother discovered this Corvette (#2371) in Georgia with only 59. 16 miles on the odometer. he pulled the trigger and parked it in his garage! Today the odometer reads only 75. 28 miles which we believe continue to reflect actual miles from new. Approximately 5 years ago. he had the entire car repainted. installed fresh weather stripping & seals. new interior & convertible top installed. new tires mounted. and few other cosmetic enhancements to bring his largely original car to more presentable standards. After 27 years of ownership. health issues forced him to finally part ways with his investment. More recently with its latest owner. the engine was pulled and completely resealed with all new gaskets throughout from the oil pan to the Winters foundry aluminum intake. While out. it was professionally detailed. had both original carburetors professionally cleaned & rebuilt. and a new DeWitts aluminum high performance 2-row radiator installed with new hoses & clamps. The rear end was resealed along with all new gear lube. The front control arm bushings are new. as well as the brake lines & hoses. fuel filter. and both mufflers. It truly runs and drives as it should. so it is ready to enjoy immediately! The exhaust note is just splendid!
