The 1940 Buick Special sedan continued on the tradition of a full-size luxury sedan with 8 cylinder power. but now with an inch longer wheelbase than the previous year and. of course. slightly redesigned sheet metal. A new 248ci Dynaflash Inline 8 with 107 horsepower provided motivation for the nearly 2-ton automobile; inside. passengers were coddled in the era's plushest materials. With a base price of only $996. it also proved to be one of 1940's most affordable luxury cars and 67. 08 found homes.

We are very excited to offer this 1940 Buick Special Sedan. Finished in a beautiful shade of Deep Blue. this Special has a wonderfully complementing medium blue mohair interior. In addition to the many standard features including machined dash and split windshield. this car is also equipped with tinted yellow fog lamps. dual side-view mirrors. front and rear bumper guards. exhaust turn-down. AM radio with center windshield antenna and very attractive Buick hubcaps wrapped in BF Goodrich Silvertown 6. 50-16 4-ply tires.

We are fortunate enough to be representing this car for the second time and the one owner in between used the car regularly over the course of their long ownership. As such. it will certainly show its age cosmetically. The paint. while still holding a glossy finish. does show slight cracking that is noticeable from closer distances. The car's interior shows signs of use but is still very presentable. This car comes with a jack. tool and spare and proudly wears several stickers on its rear window. including one for the Buick Owner's Club of America. The car runs and drives very well; having seen the benefits of regular use. this car is very much dialed in and should take you anywhere you need to go. The Dynaflash 8 and the 3-speed column-shift manual transmission complement each other very well to ensure a smooth ride. The odometer shows 80. 87 miles. which could be accurate to the chassis but we have no way of verifying.
