This car has a complete restoration and is in very fine collector condition inside & out. There were only 771 examples of the 1968 Jaguar e- Type Series 1. 5 Roadster with only 150 of these featuring Glass Covered HeadLights. These cars were built at the factory near the end of 1967 then titled as 1968 US editions. The Series 1 evolution had added many improvements in drive-ability including a 4. 2-liter engine upgrade and improved synchromesh gearbox. The cockpit was enlarged & the convertible top was superior and more leak-proof. The cooling system increased in capacity which eliminated overheating in warm climates. Jaguar's E-Type. or XKE for the American market. has earned its status as one of the most attractive sports cars to ever hit the pavement. Praised for it's near perfect proportions. the XKE is one of automotive design's all time greats. Designed by Sir William Lyons. who as a designer considered himself an 'aerodynamicist. His work philosophy placed function before form but. in a car whose function was flawless. a perfection of form was the end result.
