As a life-long lover and long-time collector of late 60's and early 70's GM cars. I have come to admire and appreciate the little things that make a big difference. Maybe some of these things don't add a lot of tangible value to some people but to a seasoned "car guy" it's the small positive attributes that catch our attention. Things like the absence of rattles or vibrations and windows that roll up and down with 2 fingers and a dashboard that lights up brightly when the lights are on and doors that close like new are just a few examples that separate a worn car from a good one. Driving down the road for one minute sitting behind the wheel of this Chevelle is all it takes to be convinced that the 99. 00 miles are original. It is all but obvious that this car has never had a hard or abusive day in it's entire life. Never someones hotrod or in the hands of a high school kid. An Oregon car since new and only 2 previous owners. I have the owners manual. warranty/info booklets. and Protect-O-Plate. No rust issues of any kind. The original undersides and trunk are MINT. Numbers matching 307-V8 and turbo-350 transmission with power steering and power brakes. One factory color repaint done several years ago and the interior is in excellent condition. A clear impression of the car can be formed within the first few photos. It is quickly becoming common knowledge that the original cars that have been cared for are more desirable. I'm proud to say that I was among the first to jump on that band wagon. These "Survivors" as they are called. tell their life stories in a way that restored cars just can't. Who restored it? What grade of parts were used? Reproduction or original components? Any repaired rust or replaced body panels? Great questions. and unless detailed photos of the entire restoration process from start to finish are provided. the answers to those questions are a mystery. I have seen too many wolves in sheeps clothing over the years. Don't get me wrong. I'm generally a trusting person but I prefer cars that simply speak for themselves. Face value is always my preference and the members of my collection support that claim. I don't mind a refinishing of the paint in the original color or a seat repair. Those things are acceptable and expected. I understand that these cars are now 40+ years old. but they can only be original once and I prefer having collector cars that were last put together by the fine boys at General Motors working on the assembly line. There is no exception for low mileage. limited amount of owners. receiving good care and always being rust-free in a mild climate. Thus. my attraction to this car. A wonderful car is so many ways. I will provide addition information under many of the upcoming photos.

All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my Chevelle in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the car clearly and accurately from as many angles as I could think of. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the car for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My telephone number is 503-575-0404 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Monday evening. the 4th of August at 7:30PM Pacific.

I expect and look forward to receiving phone and email inquiries and therefore. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the car becomes no longer available.

*If you are outside of the U. S. or Canada. PLEASE contact me to confirm your bidding activity as genuine. *

Everyone. please be sure to read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way.

NO RESERVE AUCTION

I did not set a reserve price on my Chevelle. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see in my driveway at home 2 days before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my car and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. Thanks for your time. DAVE

Some cars just wear certain colors better than others. This car looks outstanding in the original gold and the compliments are non-stop every time I take her out. As I mentioned. the car had one factory color repaint years ago. This was a closed-door respray. The door jambs. around the trunk. etc. still show beautiful original paint. The color match is excellent. A good job was done at the time and due to the car being garaged it has held up nicely. Certainly not Concourse level by any means but the car shows and presents itself quite well. She is very straight as you look down the sides and the finish holds a nice gloss with a deep shine. Any flaw is minor and is generally limited to a handful of small rock chips. Both original bumpers and all exterior moldings are very nice. The grille area is in excellent shape and all glass is crystal clear. Again. this car has escaped the fate and abuse that most others experienced. A very pretty car as you walk up to it and that opinion doesn't waver much even right up close.

The view from my front porch.         The interior is in impressive condition. I have been over just about every inch of this car and I'm never disappointed with what I discover. The front and rear seats have been re-done and match the interior perfectly. Headliner. carpet. door panels and the entire dashboard area appear to be day-one original and in very nice shape. No excuses needed.

As mentioned in the comment above. the dashboard is outstanding. Notice the radio-delete. I've actually never seen this on a '70 Chevelle.

Both rear quarter panels are original and rust-free. There are a few tiny dings on this drivers quarter caused by something being stored in the trunk on the backside of this panel. The blemishes are small enough that my camera was not able to capture them. They do not take away from the appearance of the car. This is a minor complaint but in the interest of disclosure. they needed to be mentioned.

The door edge moldings are original.

Even the lower sections of the front fenders are mint and rust-free. Not a pimple. blister or wart.

A bit of a broken record here I know. but it's such a nice car and I've seen it. touched it. smelled it and driven it. It's frustrating trying to convey these things on a computer screen.

The Rally wheels are 15X7 front and rear with 235-60-15 tires.

Body panel fit and alignment are excellent. Hood. doors and trunk have even gaps between each panel. I have found no evidence of any accident damage past or present. Both doors open and close perfectly.

The original rear bumper is nice with bright chrome. Very slight tarnish visible on close inspection near the tail lights but your nose has to be right on it to notice. This photo matches in-person appearance.

The rust-prone area around the rear window is very nice on my car. There is a superficial scratch on the rear glass but nothing of concern.

The front of the 1970 is unarguably the best. They got it right!

The entire roof-line is outstanding. I had a small ding repaired at the back roof corner just above the rear side glass. A tent pole in the garage fell into it. Under close scrutiny. a slight color shade difference can be seen. No one has ever noticed it but me.

All 4 headlights are original equipment T-3's.

There is a very shallow and small ding under the B and U. Again. I'm the only one that knows it's there. Unless you're the person hand waxing the car it is difficult to see.

Another beautiful and rust free quarter panel. The rust-prone areas that are typical on almost all of these cars just aren't the case on my Chevelle.

The vintage ENCO sticker is covering a small flaw on the bumper. I've never cared. It's too cool to remove.

Over the years minor blemishes have occurred. Again. they are small and certainly do not have a negative effect on the cars appearance.

Absolutely every light on or in the car works! Even the license plate and back-up's.

         >

I fully admit that my comments here will be almost entirely opinion based and possibly of no real value or interest to some of you. This goes back to what I said in the beginning about the little things that experienced and educated car guys have come to appreciate regarding old cars. I've had some members of my collection since my grade school years. My life has been spent with these so when I remark about how a car looks. smells. performs and it's overall feel. I think my opinions at least warrant some consideration. No arrogance or bragging intended. With that said. I adore this car. She is no where near the most expensive or valuable car sitting in my garage. Yet. so far this summer I have driven nothing else! The ONLY reason I stopped was so that the next owner could be the one to roll the miles over. The odometer is currently 99. 58. From the way it starts even after being ignored for weeks. to the way it sounds. the crisp throttle response. to how amazing she performs and drives down the freeway and on and on. Seniority is playing the biggest part in this. The sale of the Chevelle facilitates the reconditioning of several others that have been sitting untouched. Otherwise. I would not sell this car. She got a piece of me immediately during the hour drive home the day I got her. I've tried but it's hard to explain. Just a factory 307 car and I absolutely love it. When taken all together. the long list of little differences really do mean something. If you can appreciate that then there actually is tangible value.

The steering wheel is just about the only thing in the interior showing notable wear.

Bottoms of both doors are gorgeous.

Top portion of the driver side door panel has slight sun-fading but is impressive for original. I would NEVER replace it. The reproductions fit so poorly. Always stay with original when possible.

            Dash is outstanding.

The interior really is very nice.

I did replace the rear package tray. The original was ok but discolored and didn't match the quality of the rest of the interior.

            Headliner is perfect.

Even the original firewall insulation is near perfect. This car has had such a gentle life.

Everything on the car functions properly. All lights. turn signals. gauges. wipers. etc. The heater controls glide like they are in butter and the heater fan is almost silent on all speeds. The horn is currently the only non-working item.

Original mileage. As of today the are 99. 58. I will allow the next owner to be the one to turn them over to 00. 00.

Trunk is spectacular. NEVER re-speckle painted or restored in any way. Even the spare is original. The rim is gold on the other side. Factory jacking equipment is in place and in excellent condition.

Factory stampings on both quarter panels.

View of behind back seat area and under rear window.

I promise to not get all sentimental here like I did previously. One of the best running and performing Chevrolet small block V-8's I've ever owned or driven. 307's are kind of un-sung heros. Blend a 283 block with a 327 crank and there you go. a 307. Bullet-proof and crisp revving like a 327. Even if someone offered to install a free crate motor I would politely say no thanks. It almost hurts to say that but it's true nevertheless. She starts perfectly warm or cold. Quick stop light to stop light acceleration and great highway power. The second owner added the aluminum intake and Holley 4bbl carburetor. They are dialed in nicely. I wouldn't change a thing. Even the cold fast idle works perfectly. The turbo-350 transmission shifts flawlessly and the kick-down to passing gear is spot-on. The power steering turns with one finger and the power brakes stop on a dime. Suspension and brakes are tight and sound. Mechanically she is a sweetheart and the biggest reason she's my favorite to drive. No quirks or intermittent issues. Simply turn the key and go. Always. that's it. One of the most user-friendly cars I've had. Many of my high-dollar cars can be such pains in the butt. Not the Chevelle. ever. Just wonderful all the time and I can take no credit for it. Such a good car.

I cleaned NOTHING under the hood. No sprayed water or cleaners of any kind. Just an honest engine compartment in excellent shape.

The light coating of dust on the firewall would clean easily.

Although my camera couldn't focus behind the alternator to photo the engine numbers. they are there and easy to read with the human eye. Block pad stampings clearly show the VIN number that matches the car and the correct engine castings. Yes. numbers matching.

Undersides we pray to find. Stunning. spectacular. call it what you like. The undercarriage is mint.

The light undercoating removed easily everywhere I tried and exposed the factory primer (orangeish red) on the floors. Amazing. Detailing the undersides would be a rewarding and simple task.

Other than a slight drip coming from where the speedometer cable goes into the transmission. she hasn't left puddles on my garage floor. Again. even my '55 leaves me something to clean up. The Chevelle- hardly anything. One of the best kids in the room by far.

Clear certificate of title easily transferable to any State in the U. S. and exactly what border crossing folks and customs agents want to see. In case you are outside of the United States. all paperwork is in perfect order. As requested in my terms of sale. please contact me if you outside of the U. S. or Canada. I'm happy to assist in any way I can.

            Original doc's.

Well. I'm fairly positive that I've made my appreciation for this car abundantly obvious at this point. I'm so sorry for babbling on. I normally don't get attached anymore. This Chevelle was a rare exception and I will miss her. Nice originals are getting hard to find in this condition. I'm hoping that her next owner shares my admiration. It is simply a wonderful car and more than worthy of sitting next to the other members of my collection. Thanks again-____________________________________________________________Terms of Sale: 44yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS:
