***Well. she's not too far from 50 but looks pretty good for her age***
Up for auction is our father/son project car. a 66 Mustang GT Fastback.  Originally a 289 Hi-Po now fitted with a 351 Cleveland V-8 for added punch.  It has a 4-Speed Manual Transmission. 4-bbl square bore carburetor. disc brakes up front. and 4-point safety harnesses.  The engine starts and runs well with no issues.  The raw power of the old Cleveland really makes it hard to part with. but alas. read on.
This car became my son's high school senior project and was featured in a newspaper article back at that time.  It was rescued from a barn where it sat for about 15 years awaiting restoration by the previous owner that never happened.  Quite a bit of restoration work has been done. but as you can see in the pictures there is more to do.  We've owned it for about 6 years.
Turns out life does come at you fast and my son now has a son of his own and another baby on the way much sooner than planned.  It has become clear he won't have time or financial means to do justice to this classic machine any time soon. so it needs to go to a good home.  Hard to part with it. but here is a chance for someone else to make this classic car their very own.
The car is solid mechanically and body wise and has been driven about 2. 00 miles since the engine and transmission were reinstalled.  It needs some interior and electrical work.  The paint is decent. although the local shop that sprayed it was hurrying to meet a project deadline and there are a couple areas where some loose media blast material got into the finish.  The actual mileage is unknown.  The odometer works and is displaying approximately 20. 00.  My best guess is that it has turned over once.  I have the clear Florida Title in my name.
As mentioned this is a project car with more work to be done.  A couple notable items are the emergency brake is not connected and I noticed the exhaust that was re-done by my son a couple years ago could use some more solid attachment to the undercarriage.  There is a slight oil drip from the main seal area.  It is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied.  Buyer is responsible for shipping cost and arrangements.  I will assist buyer or shipping agent picking up vehicle.
