A lovely RARE Bond Mark F Minicar. Buddy was born in 1958 as a 250cc Tricycle Saloon come Convertible (the fibreglass roof unbolts and lifts off and the side windows lift out) dressed in his green coat and beige hood. 'BECOMING EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND NOW. ESPECIALLY IN THIS ORIGINAL CONDITION'. Showing 43. 03 on the clock. He starts on first turn and runs very well with smooth gears and light clutch. Good tyres all round. In superb roadworthy order throughout ~ EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. Last mot expired May 2013 with no advisories and covered just 200 miles since ~ no mot required due to age. Over fifty five years young this sprightly tricycle is tax exempt and very economical to insure under classic insurance.

The Minicar was amongst the first British cars to use fibreglass and aluminium body panels and steel chassis.

The engine was upgraded in 1958 to a 247 cc twin-cylinder Villiers 4T. The engine. gearbox and front wheel were mounted as a single unit and could be turned by the steering wheel up to 90 degrees either side of the straight-ahead position. enabling the car to turn within its own length.

Fitted with a Dynastart unit. which doubled as both starter motor and alternator on these models and incorporated a built-in reversing solenoid switch. After stopping the engine and operating this switch the Dynastart. and consequently the engine. would rotate in the opposite direction producing a reverse gear.

Top speed was given as 55 mph (89 km/h) with an average fuel consumption of 60 mpg.

In great usable order throughout. Drives superb with a lovely gearbox and clutch.

'A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY TO OWN ONE OF THESE ICONIC BRITISH BUILT VEHICLES BY SHARP'S COMMERCIALS'

The body work is in great order throughout and has been hand brush painted in the past. which many of these vintage vehicles were then. but it adds to the character and charm.

The interior upholstery comprising the seats and door cards are finished in light dove grey and are also in great condition throughout. Must be viewed to be fully appreciated. Not to be missed.

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Julien , dated 19 january 2021
1st question for the bond car: Is this still available.

2nd question: Is it rust free underneath the car, bumper to bumper? I know this opportunity is rare.

Last question: Do you ship across united states?

Thanks,
Julien

This is not a 1958 Bond. The "A" registration makes it 1963, the same as mine.
