1957 Rolls RoyceSilver Cloud I 
Cars History:  This Rolls Royce was purchased new by the Woodward family owners of the Woodwards Department Stores. For much of the last twenty-five years it has been parked in a private garage on Vancouver Island being driven very little. I recently made an offer to purchase this car but when I did not hear back I went ahead and and bought a 1959 Silver Cloud instead. As luck would have after purchasing the 59 I received a call saying my offer on this car had been accepted. I live about 6 hours and a ferry ride from the Island so last weekend I booked a flight and picked up this car and drove it home.
Description: This Rolls Royce is unrestored but well maintained. It is very presentable and attractive as it sits but is not perfect. the paint is at least 30 years old and although still shinny it does not have the finish that comes from modern paint finishes and it shows some age when you look closely.
Body: The body is not collision damaged. the trim is straight and in good condition. The glass is all good including the windshield. and free from wiper rash. The paint is shiny but aged and although it is not now in need of a respray. at some point in the future it should be updated. There is some rust that will not show in the pictures but on close examination you can see forming under the paint. This is most prevalent on the drivers front fender near the turn signal and the edge of the fender near the door. There is some signs on the rocker panels as well but again it is below the paint surface and does not show in the pictures. The rear fenders appear to be very good with a very small spot on the wheel lip near the very bottom about the size of a silver dollar. There is a scratch that may appear to be rust in the photo but is not on the top of right front fender wheel opening. Overall I consider this car to have a very good body for an unrestored 1957 car. I do not have a hoist so I can not take pictures of the under side of the car but I see no indication that there is any problem with the floors. I have taken many pictures please look at them carefully and decide for yourself and feel free to call me for a description of any area you are particularly concerned with. I also welcome you to see the car in person or have an agent inspect it for you.
Mechanical: When I purchased the I drove it on a six hour road trip home. The engine sounded and ran very well with no issues and used about half a quart of oil with an average highway speed of 70 MPH. The exhaust was quite. the gauges all work as they should. the temperature stayed just slightly above the halfway point with good oil pressure. The transmission worked as expected. the brakes were extremely stiff at first but worked normally after about 5 minutes of driving. The tires have good tread and because the car has always been parked indoors they are not cracked or weathered however they do seem to have squared from sitting and although the ride improved slightly over the miles I would replace them. This Rolls Royce has been parked for a long time and will need to be put through the normal process of fluid changes and servicing that would be expected before a proper mechanical assessment can be made.
Interior: The interior is gray leather and in good condition. There are no rips or tears. there is some patina most noticeable on the the drivers door panel. the headliner is good and the wood throughout is outstanding. The carpet shows some age but is not in need of replacement at this time. The car now has a dated stereo tape sound system. the original radio is included with the car.
Reason for selling: A I mentioned earlier I now have 2 Silver Clouds so one must go. I have paid the taxes. insurance and registration fees on the 59 so that is why I am selling the 57.
Location: The car is located near Salmon Arm British Columbia.

Overall: These cars are rare and desirable. nbsp;arriving anywhere in a Silver Cloud makes an outstanding statement. This car is more than presentable as is. if I were to keep it I would do very little to change it at this time. This is you chance to own a classic beautiful Rolls Royce for less than you paid for your house and enjoy it as soon as it arrives. Most people looking at it on the street would believe it well out of there price range but in fact they are affordable.
