A fantastic enthusiast owned Triumph Spitfire MkIV presented in beautiful condition.

EQUIPMENT
Steel panelled coachwork. up-and-over bonnet. toughened safety glass screen. folding soft hood. tonneau cover. winding windows. driving mirrors. fitted front seat belts. self-parking twin electric wipers. chrome- plated bumpers. three spoke steering wheel. sun visors. courtesy lighting. Smiths instrumentation comprising of speedometer. tachometer. temperature gauge. fuel gauge. voltmeter. oil pressure.

EXTERIOR
This wonderful MkIV example of Triumphs iconic small two seater sports car is finished in Triumph Sapphire Blue (code 76). The paintwork accentuates the Michelotti design wonderfully and boasts a deep glossy shine. Structurally excellent and with no corrosion to the panels. the car has been incredibly well preserved and cherished. and only upon close inspection can minor paint blemishes and faint scratches be detected. commensurate with a very useable example. The extensive chromework and original badges are in excellent order with only the faintest pitting to the front bumpers and door handles escutcheons. barely noticeable. The seldom used and expensive replacement double duck Mohair hood with matching tonneau is perfect. The large up and over bonnet opens effortlessly thanks to the fitment of gas shocks and offers unimpeded access to a beautifully detailed engine bay with expensive chromed and stainless steel dressing pieces. easily removable to suit taste. The boot mounted luggage rack has been removed without a trace. Striking looks and tremendous fun!

INTERIOR
The snug low slung cockpit encapsulates the occupants and offers a real classic sports car driving experience. This interior of this enthusiast owned example features original light blue vinyl seat coverings in remarkable preserved condition with matching door cards. The replacement carpeting with rubber Triumph overmats is spotless and the original wooden dash housing chrome edged smiths gauges is pristine. The oil pressure gauge is a recent replacement and remains disconnected. The steering wheel being the original factory item is fully intact but the rim has some age related wear marks. A brilliant spitfire interior wanting for nothing and ready for continued touring enjoyment!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A simple 1296cc four cylinder engine producing 61bhp with incredible parts availability makes maintenance and ownership very cost effective. Many advantageous and accepted improvements allow this car to deal with modern day driving so much easier and include. Hi-Torque starter motor and electric fan as well as uprated springs. bushes and alternator to name but a few. A professional conversion to a Ford Type 9 five speed gearbox secures a huge improvement over the standard Triumph set up. The result is an impeccable driving experience with none of the original Triumph magic lost.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Four pristine replacement wide stance chromed wire wheels truly enhance the striking appearance of this stunning car. The wheels are shod in matching quality Toyo 330 175/70 R13 tyres with masses of tread remaining. The completely overhauled braking system features an expensive conversion to anti-corrosion silicone brake fluid with all seals replaced to offer higher temperature resistance and improved performance further emphasising the no expense spared mentality to the cars upkeep and the owners desire to achieve optimum standards.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 1st October 1972 this MkIV example has benefitted from truly cosseted existence. The previous keeper a retired design engineer lavished many hours improving and maintaining his pride and joy. As an active member of the local Triumph Spitfire Club and keeper of more than one Spitfire. Mr Watson thoroughly enjoyed regular organised outings and attended all the foreign Race Circuit trips including Le Mans and Spa Francorchamps.

A large history file includes a vast collection of maintenance invoices and parts receipts and provides an insight into the level of fastidious care and attention this car has received.

With a hugely active owners club following and support network this Triumph Spitfire is now ready for a new owner to simply drive. show and thoroughly enjoy.
