The best driving model of all the E-types

As we all know the prices of E Types have rocketed over the past few years and still seem to be on the increase.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone to lightly restore one of these iconic vehicles back to its original full glory.

This car would not take much to get back on the roads and not much more to make really nice.

I will attempt to run through the obvious things that need doing but just to deter the dreamers and those of a pedantic nature please allow 6 million pounds to cover the work required.

Right. now that`s the dreamers taken care off let`s move on to the more serious `buyers`.

The bodywork is very straight and barring some blistering mainly to bottom of doors and one or two other areas there is hardly any bodywork needing any attention.

The interior is all together and complete (and quite usable) but to make nice you would probably want to refurbish.

Chrome wire wheels are all good just requiring a good clean.

Chromework is all good and solid with just some mild pitting here and there you may wish to attend to.

Unable to quote on brakes. gearbox. engine etc as she is not currently running so obviously selling as untested.   There are a few items that will come with the car that will need to be put back on before she is ready for the roads but she may require one or two other bits not currently known so let`s keep it real.

Despite the overall condition of the car being really quite good there is some welding required to the underside.   Nothing major. just a few places that would be required for mot.

Overall and in summary this appears to be a very easy diy project for someone with the ability and knowhow (which is not me. sadly. ).

Considering the ever increasing values of the E-Type I feel the low reserve I have set leaves plenty of leeway for a very decent profit/investment opportunity to be had. or just a very cheap E-Type for yourself to enjoy over the years knowing your investment is safe. if not bullet-proof. !!!

Before deciding what this car is worth please spend a few moments to do a Google search to ascertain what the going rate is for this model.

I doubt very much you will find a like-for-like good one for under £25k.

If you search further afield. and at the top end of the market. you will regularly see prices for this model exceeding £35. 00+. !!!

Nevertheless to entice a hassle free sale I have set the reserve well below the current market/insurance value. so this is definitely a bargain to be had.

I hope I have covered most things but please feel free to contact me with any specific questions you may have and I will do my best to answer honestly and to the best of my knowledge but

I`m sure I`ve missed loads so please feel free to fire away with your `genuine` questions!!!

PLEASE NOTE:

Obviously due to storage of my trade vehicles and the very nature of older vehicles. I would suggest a good service/overhaul of all fluids. brakes. rubbers. clutches. pipes. engines and electrics would be advisable and most likely needed in some cases.

Winning bidder to pay £500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hrs of auction end!! Deposit `MUST` be paid PRIOR to collection!! This request is purely to deter the day-trippers. hagglers. re-negotiators and winning bidders who feel by their winning of the auction just puts them in the privileged position of having first refusal with the `option` to buy!!

Obviously a hugh apology goes out to all you genuine eBayers who appreciate. understand and follow the correct ethics of the auction. but as like me I`m sure you`ve had similar frustrations and fully understand the need for my plea.
