The "last" of the big convertibles

This is an amazingly beautiful condition Pontiac Grand Ville Brougham convertible with a stunningly low 22. 00 original miles. It is a true 1 owner from new delivery right up until this day. Always garage kept and mostly "stored" its whole life. it is a testament to loving and caring ownership.

Finished in Persimmon Metallic (64) with factory original white pin-stripes and Saddle and white interior (96Y). All so VERY 70s and looks a treat!

This is a rare car in that it has the highest optioned 4-barrel carburetor. 455 V8 (over the standard 2-bbl 400) and the 8-track stereo option. (see http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Pontiac_Grand_Ville and read extract below).

The 1975 Grand Ville was the last big American convertible ever made. And. in fact. the last convertible overall until the re-introduction of American produced convertibles in 1983.

It has its all original body. chrome and fittings. Nothing has been changed. All in excellent original condition and great presentation. The body has absolutely no signs of accident damage; big or small.  The paint appears to be completely original but for the front right fender which was repainted some 20 years ago (the colour match is not so good). There are some very minor imperfections here and there. including some pimpling on the hood but the finish presents extremely well with a very decent shine. It does present stunningly. There are no rust issues anywhere on the car including the underside. partly to do with the car being rust treated by the dealer when new (you can see the protectant on the inside edges of the fenders under the hood). To maintain its fine condition. the car is currently being professionally stored in a climate controlled showroom.

The interior is simply perfect without any signs of wear. marks. scratches or blemishes of any kind. The dash. seats. door panels are simply like new. The convertible top is excellent without any of the wear. scuffs or stains often seen on these cars (on the right rear edging of the roof. about 6 inches of the stitching has come free). All finishes. chrome. faux wood. steering wheel and carpets present beautifully. It even has its original GM rubber floor mats. The gauges and switchgear look like brochure quality - simply amazing! All is truly very nice and sumptuously inviting. Even the steering column near the key. where it is normally scratched from even modest use. is entirely blemish free and looks like new. It is the virtual "new appearance" of the inside of the car that will really attract the period conscientuous buyer.

Everything works as it should – electric windows. seats. roof. gauges and instruments. The clock is a little temperamental though. Heater blows toasty and A/C is ice cold.

Mechanically excellent with no oil leaks or exhaust leaks. Simply. an ultra-smooth highway cruiser that fires up first time. every time. She is so amazingly smooth over any road. You drive her over railway tracks and she is solid without any rattles. clunks or thumps. Very impressive to drive and surely only something you will find in a low mileage example. Brand new battery. good tyres on factory sports rims. excellent brakes and just great to drive. You won't find a better priced classic cruiser with all the creature comforts to drive this summer! She is STUNNING!

The car has its original unused spare. jack. tools and manual and also comes with a file of paperwork INCLUDING its original window sticker.

Please see the link to the photos which say it all.

The car was simply washed and cleaned. She was not specially detailed or "photo-staged" for the photographs.

Even the underside and hood shots are simply as the car presents "naturally".

The Pontiac Grand Ville was the top-trim model in the division's full-sized line from 1971 to 1975. It displaced the Pontiac Bonneville which had served as Pontiac's top-trim model since 1958.

In addition to more luxurious interior trimmings. the Grand Ville had distinctive chrome up front and taillight trim at rear to set it apart. For 1974 only. the Grand Ville had its own parking lights. which wrapped around the corner of the front fender. The car was often seen with deluxe appearance options. such as sport wheels and vinyl tops. Rear fender skirts were featured on the 1973 to 1975 models.

Standard equipment on the 1975 Grand Ville models included the 400 cubic-inch V8 engine with the big 455 V8 as optional. Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. power steering and power front disc brakes. Popular options included air conditioning. power windows and driver's seat. tilt steering wheel. cruise control. AM/FM stereo with tape deck and much more.

For 1975. the Grand Ville became the Grand Ville Brougham and included more standard equipment than in previous years. such as power windows and a carpeted trunk. This would be the final year for the Grand Ville series. which also included Pontiac's last convertible until 1983. For 1976. the Grand Ville nameplate was dropped and the lineup was renamed Bonneville Brougham. returning that nameplate back to its former flagship status.

Grand Ville convertibles were rare in the years from 1971 to 1975. never topping 5. 00 per year during the model run. From 1973 to 1975 the Grand Ville was Pontiac's only full-size convertible offering. There were no convertible Bonnevilles after the 1970 model year. The final year 1975 proved to be the most plentiful with just over 4. 00 cars built. as word had gotten out that this would be the final year of production. The Grand Ville convertible had the lowest production amongst its corporate cousins. the Oldsmobile 88 Royale. Buick LeSabre/Centurion. Chevrolet Caprice Classic and Cadillac Eldorado convertible lines.

This Grand Ville Brougham is part of a private collection. Although licensed and bonded. I am not a main-stream retail car dealer or broker; I am a professional car collector of some 30 years with considerable experience and knowledge of predominantly British cars. I love excellent condition cars of a wide variety and simply love cars! I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them.  However. auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer. and you are the winning bidder. please understand you have entered a binding contract.  You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Once you bid or make an offer. you are doing so to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $1500. 00 deposit (non-refundable) is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal.  The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier's check or bank wire.  I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. All payments are non-refundable. Payments as described above form an important part of this purchase contract and so. if all the funds are not received as outlined above. I reserve the right to terminate the transaction without notice. If there has been any deposit or other part payments received and I elect to terminate the contract. I reserve the right to keep any such deposits or payments and resell the vehicle to another bidder or interested party or re-list the vehicle at any time. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a national and worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost.

As a collector and experienced restorer of a variety of cars. I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard. Unless specifically stated. the car is not of show standard but of good quality "driver" condition. Please understand. the very nature of any classic car of any kind is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item. or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Please note. fitted radio/stereo systems are usually subject to upgrade by purchasers so I do not ensure operation of these but simply keep the "original look". Further. a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment. may decide to play-up the next. After all. it is some 40 years old. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition:

The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed. written or implied.  Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description. authenticity. genuineness. or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness. unforeseen imperfection. defect or damage.  It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely.  The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer's request prior to the close of the auction.   Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle.  Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age. in most US states. the mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. In this regard the seller makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any additional costs including storage. transportation. or repair after the close of the auction. Whereas I am happy to store the car in excess of 30 days from auction end. a cost of $35 per day shall apply beyond 30 days of auction end. Also. you must remember that this is a classic +/-40 year old vehicle. and while it is up to you. I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”.   At least. I have never done that.   I have always professionally transported the cars in enclosed carriers from where I bought them to my home.

PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS. nbsp;DO NOT BID AS. RESPECTFULLY. THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
