For sale is my 1967 Austin Healey MkIII.   The car is BRG over black.   The car has approximately 45k original miles.   The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate indicates the car was completed on the 3rd of May. 1966 and shipped for the US on the 16th.   The car then made its way to Cincinnati. Ohio and was sold new here.   The chassis number is H-BJ8-L/36169. engine number 29K-RU-H/10793. gearbox number 10736. and body number 81038.  The car was sold locally in 1967 and was owned by the same family until 2007.   The next owner had the car from '07 until the beginning of '14 when I purchased the car.   It was my intention to use the car daily. and I did so.   However. I now realize that I'm not as tough as I used to be and can't live with the lack of creature comforts on a daily basis.   Additionally. the car is one of seven and several have to go.   The car is a largely untouched original. never having been apart.   It's been well cared for its entire life and shows in its appearance and usability.

Cosmetics

The car is a very solid. driver quality car.   The fenders. doors. floors. and rockers. and trunk pan are all solid.   The car was painted once. in the late ‘70s.   It's was a decent paint job that is holding up well.   The car shines nicely but has chips. cracks. some hazing. and spider webbing.   The chrome is in very good condition.   All trim. interior and exterior is present and in good condition.   The seats and convertible top were redone to a very high standard about 10 years ago.   The carpets are in good condition.   The dash top is in good condition.   The wood is original and the finish is spider webbed.   However. the wood itself is in good shape and is not flaking. damaged. or cracked.   The rocker covers and rear fenders are plastic. having been replaced when the car was painted in the ‘70s.   They fit very well.   I assume they were replaced due to rust.   The only other evidence of rust would be the small boxed sections inboard of the rear end of the rockers.   These boxed sections are rusted away.   However. that's the extent of the rust.   It has not spread anywhere from there.   The folding top. tonneau cover. and folding top cover are present and in good condition.   The vehicle comes with jack. knock-off hammer. owner's manual. and shop manual.   Overall. the appearance is that of a car that has been garaged and well loved its entire life.   This history of care is present in all the surfaces and materials of the car.   It would be a shame to repaint it. in my opinion.

Functionality

The car is a wonderful driver.   It starts right up when cold with a pull of the choke and fires right up when warm.   Engine idle is always smooth.   The car pulls strong and gear shifts are crisp and positive.   The brakes are very good and there is no pull.   All five painted wires wheels were replaced and new tires were installed.   All exterior and interior lighting are functional.   All dash gauges work properly.   The overdrive works with the flip on the toggle.   The fuel pump has been upgraded with an electric unit.   Within the past five years the carbs were rebuilt. fuel tank removed. cleaned and sealed. master cylinder and booster replaced. calipers rebuilt/replaced as needed. radiator recored. and all fluids and filters were changed/serviced regularly.   The car does not run hot.   The blower motor and heater work well.   Much of the front end (tie rods. king pins. etc) was rebuilt.   The car feels tight and the steering is not sloppy.   This is a wonderful looking and driving car that should be used and maintained exactly as is.   It looks terrific with just the right amount of aging.   Scruffy enough to use it as intended and not fret about but nice enough that it will receive compliments everywhere you go.
