I own a restoration shop and this is a car I am selling for a customer.   It is an extremely rare 1925 Marmon phaeton.   It was restored in the sixties and shows little age since then.   There are a couple of very minor scratches in the paint and that's about it.

This is a model 74 which was the big Marmon in the day.   It is on a 136 1/2 inch wheelbase and probably weighs around 5000 pounds.   The engine is a 5. 7 litre (350 cubic inch) six cylinder putting out 74 horsepower.   Thus. model 74.    The transmission is a conventional 3 speed with reverse.   All the mechanics are real nice and the car is ready to driven on tours or just around town.   This car can cruise at 55 mph with no problem.   It just takes a while to get there.   It is a real nice driver.   It steers. stops and runs well.

These Marmons were right up there with the Cadillac. Packard and Pierce Arrow.   It cost in excess of $5000. 00 when new and ran with the best of automobiles of the time.   As I said earlier. this car was restored in the 1960's and driven very little.   The original mileage looks to be 59666.   The paint is still real nice with a coupe of very minor scratches that are easily touched up.   There are no dents or dings in the body and all the nickel parts are just about perfect.   The interior has no flaws.  All the door panels. seats and carpeting looks great.   The top and side curtains fit very well and need nothing.   All the doors fit tight and there are no wood issues.   The fit and finish on the car is real nice.   The drivers door panel has a lockable compartment for the tools and personals.   The other three doors have pouches that open for storage like a glove box.   On the dash. all the gauges work properly except the clock.   The ignition switch is touchy and does need replacing or repairing.   It just has wear and age.   All the wood wheels are tight.   Marmon built cars from 1903 to 1933 and won the 1911 Indy 500 with the Marmon Wasp.   It was also the first car to have a rear view mirror.   The body and some of the engine was made from aluminum.   Very advanced for the time.   They came out with a V-16 in 1931 for the luxury market but too late to save the company.   Automobile production stopped in 1933.

The only real flaw with the car is the cowl vent is missing.   It is a standard rectangle and can easily be made.   If you don't have someone who can remake it. I do have a great fabricator here in town and I can have it made for cost.

If you have any questions or need certain photos. please call Bruce weekdays at 916-652-6852 or use "ask the seller a question" feature.   To see and drive the car I am about 15 miles east of Sacramento heading towards Reno. Just give me a call.    Thank you.    If you are real serious about the car call me and I can put a "Buy it Now" on the ad for an agreed price.

Is this still available? I’m actually looking for the longer version that had the 3rd row. But this is a nice example.
