The car underwent a total restoration 5 years ago. and has been rarely driven since. New Paint shows no blemishes. the car starts idles and runs wonderfully. Cruising speed is a comfortable 70mph. Fitted with a rare Toyota Factory winch - the same as the ones used on Japanese military vehicles. Coveted by the FJ cogniscenti. Also has a tow hitch and a period correct roof rack. The interior balck vinyl shows very little wear. and the headliner is perfect. There is a 3 inch crack on the top of the dash which is barely noticeable from the cockpit. Mileage at 81. 00 is not documented. but beleived to be original. Airbox is gone. in place of a nice 38mm Webber Carb to help the engine breathe more easily. It probably provides an additional few HP. The tires are great with virtually all their tread depth left. Free wheeling hubs on the front easily tansition from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive. The engine bay is clean. The AC is genuine factory - but is currently Non-op. The heater blows well. controlled from within the engine compartment. The trunk has a lovely patina (Left deliberately during the restoration) now covered by a custom rubber mat. All Glass is perfect. rubber window seals are new "old stock" and show no deterioration. The powered steering is responsive and light for such a domineering machine. The gearbox is smooth and precise. but rather a tailgate only with an electrically operated window that can be retracted into the tailgate. This is a great opportunity to get into an appreciating FJ that can be used as a daily driver. or easily turned into a show vehicle. The Land Cruiser 55 was produced from 1967 to 1980.
