1967 Sunbeam Alpine Series V for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.25) based on 425 votes
This Sunbeam Alpine presents in good driver condition. with 56. 00 miles and two owners from new. It has seen very light use in the last several years. being taken out only on weekends in fair weather. The current owner's family is passionate about Sunbeam Alpines and have owned several over the years. so they know how to find a good car.

It runs very well. has steady oil pressure. steady water temp and does not smoke. The original engine was rebuilt around the time the current owner purchased it. about 25 years ago. but has only seen a handful of miles since - so few it's hardly been broken in! The gearbox shifts smoothly with no crunching or whine. and the clutch feels strong. There is a slight bit of gear whine from the rear axle. but it is still usable. However. a complete spare rear axle will be included in the sale for good measure. There are a handful of drips from the engine and gearbox. but nothing beyond what is normal for a driver-condition Brit sports car.

Recent improvements include professionally installed three-point seat belts. new carpet set. re-plated chrome bumpers and a thorough service. The chrome wire wheels are in very good condition and the excellent Michelin tires provide good grip. The chassis feels tight and rides well. overall just a good honest driver.

Pluses:

Solid structureStrong running Low original milesOnly two owners from new Chrome Wire wheelsGreat drivingAll electrical items work Matching Numbers

Minuses:

Not cosmetically perfect Soft top weatherstrip deteriorated Small paint bubbling on leading edge of bonnetDash top cover needs repair at LH sideSome minor leaks and dripsSlightly noisy diff (spare assembly included)

We do know the car was hit in the rear at some point during the original owner's time with it. The repair is now at least 25 years old so it is safe to conclude the car is structurally sound and the repair is stable. The doors open and close well. and panel fit is good. if not perfect. The dash top pad is coming unglued slightly at the LH side. but it seems like it can be repaired. The vinyl top is good. with only a small tear about the size of a dime. it could be patched. though the owners always had the top down. making it a non issue for them. The convertible frame is straight and in good condition. There is a top boot. though the snaps in the body are missing.

Overall this is a great weekend driver and great alternative to the usual choices for British sports cars. We are confident that with regular use and care it will be a very rewarding car to drive! Title/ownership is free and clear. It is currently located in Guilford. Connecticut. We are representing the car on the behalf of the owner. though all paperwork will reflect a private sale.
