Follow this link to video of pickup to see and hear it running: www. youtube. com/watch?v=uuahB9vfJLA
Automatic transmission with selectable 2 wheel drive & 4x4 wheel drive. with high and low gear ratio. This is a serious 4x4. not a "soft roader". it's a towing. hauling. and cruising beast. Cheap and economical to run on LPG.
MOT March 2014. Road Tax to 31 August 2013. (If reserve is met I will discount the cost of 6 months Road Tax for the buyer).
Drives and handles beautifully. Power steering. power brakes. cruise control. 9 speed wipers. original radio / cassette and amplifier / equalizer that still works. power windows. power door locks. sliding passport back window. NATO tow bar. and custom one off 3" stainless steel exhaust and silencer made by Elite Exhausts in Ayr. Scotland. which sounds totally awesome. Original 16" Alloys with 32" General Grabber tires.
This pickup is 23 years old and looks better than most 5 year old cars! It has 133. 00 genuine miles which works out at 6000 miles per year. This truck has not had a hard life. and has been very well looked after and well maintained. Great suspension. good solid handling vehicle. Respray in original colour to freshen up paint in August 2012.
Cheap insurance through many American Car insurance company's. discounted with American Car Club membership. A new Paint on Bed Liner kit is also supplied with vehicle. Whoever buy's my pride and joy will not be disappointed! Viewing highly recommended. Please call ahead to arrange day and time to view vehicle.

On 20-May-13 at 12:02:54 BST. seller added the following information:

I forgot to mention the headliner in the cab. The backing card is solid but the velour cloth has seperated from the card and sags a bit. This hasn't been a problem so I've focused on more major things thinking I'd get round to replacing the headliner after the more important jobs were done. Also on the interior. there is a small burn on the front of the drivers seat. It was there when I bought it. I did get a quote for getting it repaired which didn't cost a lot. but again never got round to it due to tackling bigger issues first.

Second video uploaded to Youtube. Gives a closer look at the outside of the truck. the inside of the doors. cab. wheels. ect. Also shows the elect windows working. radio working etc. Left front speaker started crackling yesterday when I had it out for a run yesterday. reckon it's just a loose connection. I'm not one to have music blaring when I'm driving. I prefer listening to the engine make it's own music LOL. The lacquer on the wheels is showing signs of age and will need redone to make the wheels look like new. Again this is another one of those minor jobs that was put on the back burner until the more impiortant jobs were seen to.

I've had a couple of questions about the chrome and windscreen. The windscreen was replaced 2 years ago after it received a stone chip right in front of the driver on the M1 northbound. My thanks to the Roads Dept for placing stones in the central median of the countries main and most travelled north south motorway. without which I'd have never met the very nice man at Autoglass! It was replaced by Autoglass in Ashford. and it does not leak. whistle. or rattle. The chrome is 23 years old folks. so it doesn't look "Like New". so please don't expect it too when you see it. There are no flakes or large cracks in it. and it does still polish up well. I've washed and polished the chrome (and body work) once a month since buying it to keep it protected and hold off the need to rechrome the bumpers as long as possible. There is some minor pitting and the usual hair lines in the chrome. but not as much as you would expect for chrome bumpers this old.

I've also been asked about the LPG system. When I bought the truck 3 years agao it didn't work. I got it repaired by Powerhouse in Ashford as soon as I bought it and it's been trouble free ever since. Since getting it repaired I've made 9 return runs between Margate. Kent and Argyll. Scotland; 2 return runs between Manchester and Argyll. and have driven all over Scotland and northern England without a bit of trouble from the LPG system. When starting out on a run I let the truck run on petrol for the first 2 or 3 miles before switching it onto LPG.  This is my routine to ensure the engine gets some lubrication through the fuel system. I don't know for sure if this is required but it seemed like sound advice which came from the LPG specialist at Powerhouse who fixed the LPG system when I bought the truck.  You will need to keep track of your mileage because the 4 light indicator for the LPG tank only shows all 4 lights. The lights don't go out individually as the level in the tank goes down. All 4 lights stay on until you run out and have to switch over to petrol. I've tried to have this fixed 3 times. with no joy. this does not effect the system itself and simply means you have to keep track of your mileage to prevent running out of LPG unexpectedly. I haven't found this to be a problem.

I've had a couple of questions about the transmission. diff's. and pick up bed as well. The transmission is fine. Chevy transmissions of this era are fairly bullet proof. The transmission was checked as soon as I bought the truck 3 years ago. All it needed was a couple of seals and a change of fluid. It shifts through all gears effortlessly. including in between 2 & 4 wheel drive and hi & low ratios. It does make the usual noise that Chevy's are known for when labouring uphill near the bottom of the speed range of the gear it's in. but I've owned several Chevy's (newer and older) and they all made the same sound. Both the front and rear diff's are fine also. I had these checked out at the same time as the transmission. along with all the universal joints. The front diff needed a seal which was fitted and new fluid was put in both the fron and rear diffs. The pickup bed is solid. There are a few scratches in the paint since the respray. but these are very minor and I'm also supplying the new owner with the paint-on Bed Liner Kit I bought to coat the inside of the pick up bed. There is an alloy plate fitted to the inside of the tailgate. This was there when I bought the truck and protects the inside of the tailgate. so I left it.

Also had a question about the brakes. No it does not have disc brakes all round. The front brakes are disc brakes. the rear brakes are drum brakes. The rear drum brakes were rebuilt 2 years ago by The Repair Centre in Greenock. and the front brake pads were replaced at the same time. Bearing in mind the low annual mileage this truck is driven each year these shouldn't need replaced right away. But I always check the brakes on every car. and would strongly advise anyone else to do the same. That being said. this truck sailed through it's MOT in March. and the MOT tester commented on how good the brakes and chassis were on this truck.

Next question was about the Imobiliser. When I bought the truck 3 years ago the previous owner kept the alarm system he'd installed to put in his new car. So I had a Cobra Imobiliser fitted. This was required for insurance cover. and will remain with the truck when the new owner drives her away.

Next Is the truck drivable or will transport be needed to take it away? It's drivable folks. Whoever buy's this truck will be able to drive it home. No need to worry about trailering it or towing it. If needed I wouldn't hesitate jumping in it and driving from Glasgow to Brighton tomorrow!

And in answer the latest question I've received so far - No. to the best of my knowledge this truck has not been in an accident or had any major damage repaired. I gave this truck a very thorough examination when I bought it and found no evidence of any damage repair. The guy's at Kent Classic Car in Ramsgate also gave it a good look over and didn't find any evidence either.  Not inside the engine compartment. along the frame rails. frame ends. panels. doors. bed. suspension mounts. couldn't see anything anywhere. I checked if any insurance claims had been made against this reg number but only got information on the previous 3 years. which came back as a confident no. So as far as I know this truck hasn't suffered or had any major damage repaired.

If anyone has any other questions please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be happy to answer. This is a straight forward auction and I'm happy to provide any information and answer any question I can. I want her new owner to be as happy with her as I've been. and to take as good if not better care of her than I have. I see that there's a lot of folk looking but not many bidding. I reckon you're all holding off to till nearer the end LOL. I've set a low and what I think is a very fair Reserve. so don't let that put you off. Whoever wins will be mighty happy with this truck! As well as throwing in the Pain-On Bed Liner Kit I will also ensure that the winning bidder drives her away with a full tank of LPG and at least 1/4 of a tank of petrol. Can't say fairer than that!
