VERY clean 1959 MGA 1500 complete with soft top. tonneau and side curtains…

This is my wife's car and she just does not drive it and so it must go to a new home. This car has had a LOT of money spent on it during the past two years. I have tried to list some of the improvements made as part of this restoration and have doubtless missed many parts. Needless to say the new owner will have little to do to the car…. simply drive and enjoy it.

Feel free to ask questions.

Body
Clean body. no rust and totally solid underneath.

Exhaust
Recently added the new exhaust system. very clean.

Powertain
The engine has been completely rebuilt. new pistons/rings. bearings. new cam. The head was machined. new valves/seats (hardened seats installed) and new valve springs and retainers. New water pump. generator. motor mounts/rubbers. coil. and MANY more items.

The gearbox was similarly completely rebuilt with new synchros and front and rear seals and new rear mount. New clutch/release bearing. Thanks to the new synchros the upshifts/downshifts are now smooth. unlike 90% of MGAs on the road.

MANY new clutch items. slave cylinder rebuilt. new hoses.

Interior
The interior has been freshened up with new seats and door cards by the prior owner so didn't need to be be touched. A brand new steering wheel was installed though and new heater controls. The dash looks as good as it did back in 59 with nothing cut into it and all panels as original. A new radio blank plate was fitted.

New trunk carpets.

Suspension
All new rubbers in the front suspension and suspension.

Fuel system
Carbs totally rebuilt with a quality rebuild kit and the sender unit reinstalled with new gasket. The gas tank had previously been cleaned out and coated so didn't need to be touched. New filler cap and cork seals. I located original Vokes air filters and brass carb dashpot nuts to ensure the engine bay remains totally original. unlike nearly every other MGA which has chrome monstrosities in it.

Brakes
Brand new front drums. front/rear shoes and brake cylinders. The car stops straight and quickly.

External
The side curtains appear to be in good shape as is the soft top AND tonneau cover. This car comes with pretty much all options for cover!

Brand new top quality wire wheels and tubes. they are spotless and alone account for a $1600 purchase. I will include an oak tool used to remove/install the wheels which are splined and have no lug nuts. The spinners are brand new too!

The front grille was replaced just this winter and the car has MAYBE been driven 200 miles since then so it is basically brand new and with an original vintage AA sign.

New rear lights and bulbs.

In short this car has been gone through and had MANY MANY parts replaced. all of which have been replaced in the last two years. The car starts easily. has 60PSI oil pressure. drives well and turns heads wherever it goes. The only issue is an inoperative heater but as the car is only used in warmer weather this hasn't been an issue for my wife.

The car has been maintained in an original condition. no aftermarket parts have been fitted and the appearance is totally stock. I have seen some MGAs where the owner took it upon themselves to install a wooden dash or some other ‘improvement'. none of that here. The result. a desirable. original car with nice chrome. straight body and solid powertrain.

Clear West Virginia title and NEVER driven in the rain.

The car has received a lot of interest in only 12 hours. as well it should. I have received two cash offers overnight for the car. Both were just shy of the reserve price. Please note this auction will go to the conclusion and the only 'cash offer' that I will accept now is 23k which you can make by way of the 'Buy It Now' button. i. e. if you have an offer to make. make it via eBay. The car has had 6-7k spent on it in the last 18 months and I will not accept a low ball offer. the car is just too nice to let it go cheaply.

I have also had a question about the title and VIN. The car has its proper ID tag intact. correctly showing the body/chassis ID and which matches the clear title so there is no issue there.

I will be posting a video later today showing the engine running in response to a question about the powertrain. The car starts with no trouble. idles and revs smoothly. Oil pressure is solid. 50-60PSI. well above what a typical MGA of this era shows.

A 60 second video that shows the car starting and running. Note I initially try to start it by pulling out the choke instead of the starter. This is my wife's car and I am not massively familiar with the dash.

My wife pans around the rear of the car to show ZERO smoke coming from the exhaust whilst the car is being revved. Oil pressure gauge is hard to read but is showing 50-60PSI. The video (filmed on an iPhone so not ideal from either a video OR audio perspective) makes the engine sound noisy but it is not. it is VERY smooth/quiet.

As you can hear from the video. I am British and many of the parts replaced on the car were brought back with me from the UK on various trips.
