1971 Datsun 240Z

About the Car

This three-owner. five-speed. factory air conditioned. 1971 Datsun 240Z is an extremely nice. no excuses car.   You will be hard pressed to find another one this nice.  This is a garage kept example through and through and the pride of previous ownership shows.   This 240Z has never been in an accident and is as straight as the day it came from the factory.   Averaging less than 3. 00 miles per year. this is has been a cherished car.   Documentation has receipts going back to 1987 verifying the mileage.   The original woman owner lived in Washington where the car spent the first 34 years of its life between two owners.   It was then sold to a dentist in Kansas who only used it during the summer months.   The receipts document 138. 00 miles on the chassis. but there are less than 500 miles on the rebuild.   This 240Z has been regularly serviced throughout its lifetime.   Built in May 1971. this Z was undercoated from the factory and that preserved it exceptionally well.   There are no rust issues anywhere.

Since it has been in our possession we have gone through it completely. starting with a complete rebuild of the engine and carburetors.   After 138. 00 miles of service. it was time.   There are currently 400 miles on the rebuild and it runs out great.   While the motor was out being rebuilt. the engine compartment was repainted the original silver.   As Z fans know. silver is a pretty rare color.   Also. while the engine was out. a new clutch was installed.   The air conditioning compressor was rebuilt.   The radiator was also removed. fully reconditioned and reinstalled.   New belts. new thermostat. new fuel filter. pretty much everything under the hood is new or rebuilt.   All fluids were changed out.

With all of the running components completed. the stopping components were the next item to be redone.   New rotors and pads. new drums and shoes for the brakes were installed.   New Yokohama tires complete the package.

This 240Z comes with the very rare Hitachi Station Seeking AM Radio (the radio alone sells for $800+ here on eBay).   Even rarer. it works.   The antenna functions perfectly as it is also newly rebuilt.   This Z also has new rear carpet. new front carpet and new 240Z insignia floor mats.   All of the dash lights work. including the radio.   The map light and dome light also work as they should.   All of the gauges work as well with the exception of the clock which in Z tradition is right twice a day.   This Z comes with all of its used original tools. jack. wheel chocks. and spare.   The storage compartment doors work perfectly.  

After taking care of everything under the hood and inside we color sanded and buffed the paint. we know of one re-spray in the original silver. and added the side stripes as well as the spoiler.   All exterior lights work.   The chrome on the front bumper is good.   The chrome on the rear bumper is fair.   This is a 240Z you can enjoy for many years to come.

Yes. there are cheaper 240Zs out there. but you couldn't do what we've done to this one at a price anywhere near this.

We are fully licensed and regulated by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles and the Federal Government which mandates a Buyer's Guide on all vehicles sold on our site.   All vehicles regardless of year. make. or model will be sold AS IS. NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.    We will store your vehicle for up to 15 days free while transportation is being arranged. however. you must provide full insurance coverage.
