Triumph GT6 Mk2, 1970, 2000cc, 6 Cylinder for sale
For sale. GT6 Mk2. 1970 with overdrive. Subject of a full restoration some years ago and is still a very nice car - a real head turner thanks to it's rarity and beautiful lines.
The chassis and underbody are excellent with no patch welding. all wax oiled. the body has new doors. full sills. bonnet etc (all steel) and a superb paint job in gold (original colour was saffron yellow so not dissimilar). Body is still very straight and clean apart from a small blemish near one sidelight at front. the roof gutters and front roof lip are perfect (notorious horror spots on GT6's).
Interior seats are original ones refinished in leather. nice wood dash. carpets are in excellent condition and mechanically all very tight. Optional servo brake system fitted. engine / box rebuilt. stainless exhaust fitted. wheels are period chrome 5J's.
I bought this car in April of this year for the purpose of driving it with my son to Le Mans in June with the intention of selling straight after (annual pilgrimage involving something different / exotic each year!). For the trip the car has been inspected with minor fixes made including two new tyres on the front. new ignition coil. one hub stud. oil and filter change. timing and tuning. new front bearings. new rotary arm for distributer plus all HT leads replaced. new flasher can (indicators) - car was in excellent condition when bought however. ‘belt and braces' approach taken to ensure no glitches over weekend of 14th / 15th June.
If interested in the car. please follow us on twitter ‘@GT6adventure' as we'll be reporting our progress and more importantly the experience of driving this iconic british sports car across France.
I paid £10. 50 for this car in April (can provide receipt) and will be selling for the same price as intention was never to make a profit. Will be really disappointed to see this car go as in my opinion it is remarkably rare and is sure to make it's new owner a very satisfied buyer. MOT till 5th October 2014.
