The Corvette's C3 generation was well into its 8th year when John Greenwood decided to up the ante. The C3 had already proven that favorable aerodynamics would result in a more predictable and controlled car. particularly at high speeds. and his ideas extended into the aftermarket. Starting with the Sebring GT that was co-developed with Vette guru Zora Arkus-Duntov. the Greenwood cars were also fitted with revised suspension that allowed them to handle as well as they looked! The cars went racing and had measurable success throughout the mid-70s. This led to an even more radical version called the Turbo GT. the first of its kind to experiment with Turbocharging. While three cars left the Greenwood factory as turn-key cars. the majority of Turbo GTs were ordered and finished in garages. To this day. they are massively collectible and still appear to be very futuristic!

We are very excited to offer this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette Greenwood Widebody! Finished in a fittingly awesome shade of Silver. this Corvette has a very nice Blue vinyl interior to match. The car is further fitted with Air Conditioning. Power steering. power 4-wheel disc brakes. power locks. power windows. tilt/telescoping steering wheel. staggered wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires (F: 265/50R15. R: 295/50R15). Kenwood audio system with equalizer. remote driver mirror. rear defrost and mirrored glass T-tops! The car wears a chrome air cleaner and sports an aluminum intake and turbo intake plenum. as well as HEI ignition. The car also wears a good bit of chrome including: alternator. high-torque starter. distributor cover. master cylinder cover and A/C compressor cover.

The car's odometer currently shows 27. 39 miles. which we believe to be original but have no way of verifying. The car's turbo was rebuilt in 2011 along with all new gaskets. The turbo is currently set to 7 psi which not only makes a difference in the power band but also adds a very neat sound as it spools. The car has been the recipient of a complete day in the detail shop and has a freshly serviced AC system. This Corvette should make for a fun throwback to the next owner that is sure to turn heads and take home some hardware at shows. It is certainly an attention getter!
