Seller's notes: Hello, Welcome to our auction of a very unique historic 50's survivor 41 Buick Kustom. She was built sometime during the 50's by Andy Anderson from Sun Valley CA. Andy was a well known Buick racer back then and I have spoken to some older Buick guys and they all knew him to build some fast Buicks!Andy was also a good frnd of racing legend Mickey Thompson.I bought her some ten years ago from Andy's widow who was then living in Wyoming,I know very little of the whys and wherefors of her build but for some reason it was never completed to running condition. When I purchased her I set about getting her running by completing the missing throttle linkage on the four Carter YH sidedraft carbs,The rare DuCoil distributor was converted to electronic ignition for reliability,Has an MSD 6A box under the dash. I know very little about the internal specification of the 320cu in. straight eight, it ran great once we got it fired up and still runs good today. I removed the absoulutley wild header

Hello. Welcome to our auction of a very unique historic 50's survivor 41 Buick Kustom.
She was built sometime during the 50's by Andy Anderson from Sun Valley CA. Andy was a well known Buick racer back then and I have spoken to some older Buick guys and they all knew him to build some fast Buicks!Andy was also a good friend of racing legend Mickey Thompson.
I bought her some ten years ago from Andy's widow who was then living in Wyoming. know very little of the whys and wherefores of her build but for some reason it was never completed to running condition.
When I purchased her I set about getting the amazing. unique engine  running by completing the missing throttle linkage on the four Carter YH sidedraft carbs. he rare DuCoil distributor was converted to electronic ignition for reliability. as an MSD 6A box under the dash. I know very little about the internal specification of the 320cu in. straight eight. it ran great once we got it fired up and still runs good today. I removed the absolutely wild header system and had it HPC coated to preserve it. The radiator was re cored and the entire car was rewired. I converted to an alternator and added air conditioning as She was intended for cruising in a hot climate but these could be easily removed if you are a purist!
The Transmission is a floor shift three speed from a '37 Buick connected to the stock rear axle. Brakes have been recently rebuilt.
Firestone 710 x 15 Wide Whitewalls are fitted.
On to the body. She is in extremely solid rust free condition. the floors are original with no rust repair required. the driveshaft tunnel was raised due to the lowered suspension but that was it. Externally she is also very solid. the rust you see is only surface and would easily clean up or leave as is if you prefer the "Patina" look.
A lot of modifications have been carried out to the body. starting at the front. She has a '47 Cadillac grille. frenched headlights. '47 Pontiac bumper. The hood was louvered back in the 50's. doors have solonoids fitted if you wish to shave the door handles. the rear fenders have been welded to the body and fuel filler door welded shut. ( you now fill her up inside the trunk) Rear bumper is also '47 Pontiac. gravel pan (valance?) was molded to the body. exhuast tips were routed through the bumper guards. Tail lights are also '47 Pontiac.
Inside. The Dash is completely chromed and looks fantastic. it has gone green with age but would clean up very well if you prefer. The upholstery is the original Maroon and White '50's tuck n roll. it is in great condition overall but sadly the drivers seat is worn and torn. she also could do with a head lining and carpet.
All windows are in good shape and garnish moldings are old chrome.
This is a rare opportunity to own a very unique Historic Buick Kustom. when did you last see one?
Personal viewing is recommended. If you want to see the engine running go to Youtube and search "Hopped up Buick".
A Pay Pal deposit of £2000 is required within 48hrs of auction close.
Trades:Would be happy to trade for a large Narrowboat of similar Character and presence!

Hi, this might be a stupid question, but is the car still up for sale. I saw this a few years ago, but didn't have the opportunity to buy it. Now it might be possible.
Thanks, André +4747264161
