HISTORY OF VEHICLE:  I bought the car from a woman. it was her first car. given to her by her parents.  Her husband had started restoring it 10+ years ago.  around 2005. it spun a main bearing.  He began a 7 year project of rebuilding it to semi-original with racing capabilities.  It was mostly complete when I bought it. I finished installing the fuel tank. replaced several others. and was the first to start it or drive it in about 10 years.
ALL THE GOOD STUFF:  Rebuilt High Performance Engine.  I am told the head was rebuilt previously to the bearing failure.  The engine rebuild consisted of new pistons. bearings. rings. etc.  the head was shaved for high compression. all the parts used were to be race level. When I got it. it had zero miles on it. never started.  The transmission had been gone through. an issue with reverse. I see the new sealant on all cases. and have the leftover parts. Most all the seals and the window squeegees have been replaced.  Too much to list
THIS IS A 4 SPEED WITH WORKING OVERDRIVE
ALL THE NEW STUFF:  (and aftermarket parts)Rebuilt Engine.  New Weber Carb. Cannon intake. 4 into 1 headers. new exhaust all the way back. new distributor. mallory coil. new electric fan. new fuel pump. new oil pump. new clutch master cylinder. new brake master cylinder. new rear brake cylinders. rebuilt front cylinders. new front rotors. front lowering coils. adjustable struts.  new brake pads and discs. new clutch. nearly new tires. new factory houndstooth seat covers. new door panels. new rear panels. new window cranks. new door stop hinges. NEW Convertible top. new door jambs. replaced glove box. cleaned and sealed gas tank (from a different model). new sending unit. new plugs. new wires. new hoses. NEW leaf spring.  rebuilt A-arms. new door rubber seals. new rubber hood seals. new brake and clutch pedal pads. new rubber hood alignment pins. new wiring and fuse panel (blade style vs old style). wheels sandblasted and powdercoated. nearly new tires. many front end seals replaced (have most that have not been replaced).  Many new trim pieces replaced as well.  Note: "NEW" means replaced in the last 10 years. but mostly unused.  Many of the parts were un-opened when I got them. that I installed.
Everything works as far as I know. heater ducts replaced. manual switch for motor.  Lights. signals. horn. all work.  Speedo. tach. oil. and fuels gauges all work.  The tach does not work perfect at idle. but it does as soon as you drive.
NOW THE BAD:  It has had some body work. totally repainted.  The paint has some scratches. mostly due to storage in a small garage.  The passenger door has a chip on the edge from the door being opened prior to the body panels being aligned.  Body panel alignment is still not perfect. gap on drivers side hood.  A couple minor dings not visible closer than 5 feet.    Does not have the factory jack or mtg hardware for the spare.  Missing key for the trunk.  Have  one key for the ignition and doors.  The wood dash is less than perfect. peeling and in need of restoring.    The hazard light comes on when the headlights are on. but both work fine.  Steering is tight. but still a little shaking in the steering wheel at lower speeds. No rust seen. but the drivers side floor must have had some. because the floor has been replaced. NO RADIO.  The seats were re-covered. but the foam was not replaced. some crumbling due to old foam.  I do not know if it had an alignment after installing the new front suspension components. may need one. The dipstick tube was replaced during the motor rebuild. it was too long or the wrong one.  I have one from a Datsun that measures the oil level perfectly.
SUMMARY:   I completed the assembly of the car. I have driven it several times. and worked out  the bugs.  Starts right up. idles very smooth.  Has great power and acceleration.  I do not know the HP. but it is well over stock.  Engine sounds really nice. aggressive.  Transmission shifts very smooth in all gears. overdrive works very well.  This is not a Show Car. but would make an excellent daily driver and has the beginnings for building an SCCA race car.  The looks and sound make it a real head turner.
