Rolls Royce unveiled an entirely new modern design for 1980 after a long 16 year run of the previous Silver Shadow. Although not entirely new. the Silver Spur/Spirit featured many new upgrades in the way of technology. electronics. engine management systems and all around comfort. The familiar and venerable 6. 75 litre V8 engine was placed in the new model matted to the GM sourced THM 3-speed and the companies completely revised self leveling hydraulic rear suspension. The new system was very similar to the previous Silver Shadow’s suspension but Rolls Royce used a Girling automatic hydraulic ride height control system with gas charged shock absorbers making the ride far superior and more reliable than the Silver Shadows. The Silver Spur was the long wheelbase model which sold alongside the short wheelbase Silver Spirit model. The two new cars marked a very important time for Rolls Royce/Bentley. they were to be the platforms of the new models that would come for the next two decades.

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this exceptional 1 owner 1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spur Saloon finished in a stunning color combination of Masons Black over Burgundy hides with contrasting Black piping and Cherry Red Wilton Wool carpets. This Silver Spur left the Crewe production line in August of 1983 and was invoiced to Rolls Royce North America. The car was then shipped to Tom Peyette Jaguar/Rolls Royce in Louisville Kentucky where it sold to its first owner on April 24. 1984. The car has been in the care of the first owner until European Motor Studio brought the car to Arizona. This is exceptional one owner car has been properly maintained by the Rolls Royce dealership in Kentucky as evident from the records. dealer books stampings and the condition of the car. The Masons Black paint is stunning; it retains a beautiful original luster and shows like a car a quarter of the age. There are no dents. scratches. scrapes or any paint damage anywhere on the car (one finger nail size ding on the front hood above the passenger size headlight) or any paint blistering or fading. The exterior chrome. glass and trim are all in outstanding condition showing no signs of damage or issues and the original factory Black everflex top is in near perfect condition. The Burgundy leather hides show very well with extremely minimal creasing and wear. The leather is still very soft and supple and free from any damage or discoloration. The Chery Red Wilton Wool carpets are in immaculate condition as well as the original factory Cherry Red Mouton throw rugs. All of the dash leather. door panels. headliner and center console are all in outstanding original condition with almost no wear. The wood trim on the dashboard and doors is in excellent condition and free from any fade or cracking (very obvious the car has been garaged all of its life). Even the door wood rails are still in beautiful condition without any cracking. This Silver Spur starts right up and idles beautifully and does not smoke or leak any fluids. The car shifts into gear smoothly without any hesitation or noises and accelerates beautifully. The engine pulls very strong and is very smooth. The transmission shifts through all of the gears with ease and the suspension and steering feel very tight and precise without any noises or issues. The ride quality of this Rolls Royce feels like the day it left the showroom floor. it has an exceptionally smooth and quiet ride. The brakes feel very smooth and solid and free from any squeaking or fading. All of the electronics on the car are in proper working order including the mirrors. all four windows. locks. power antenna. original radio. windshield wipers. headlights. taillights. revers lights. side marker lights. brake lights. interior lights. dash lights. engine light and trunk light. Even the onboard computer is in proper working order and not pixilated like most. The AC has just had a complete over haul and blows ice cold on all of the fan speeds. The heater works well and blows as it should. The suspension and the brakes have also had major work done as well. The Michelin tires have about 65% tread life. This Silver Spur comes with its original owners handbook. service book and sales brochure along with its original owners warranty card. Also present is the original spare. original jack. original Rolls Royce tool kit. service history and records and a clean title and carfax with box A actual miles. There are no signs of any prior damage or paint work anywhere on this Silver Spur and absolutely no rust or corrosion of any kind anywhere on the car. This Rolls Royce is an exceptional quality Silver Spur that has been lovingly maintained by its original owner since day one.
