KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS offers for sale here on Ebay an exceptional 3000 MK 3 BJ-8 Sports Convertible that is 90% completed. starting from a ground-up. frame-off. nut and bolt restoration. with tons of sensible upgrades. This car is a desirable 1967 model. being the final year these cars were produced. This car was purchased as a restoration candidate by the previous owner who set about to attain a lifelong goal: to end up with a perfect Austin Healey 3000 MK3 restored correctly and properly by himself. knowing all aspects of the car were attended to. This car is very near completion. Because of the previous owner's health and his time constraints. the car was never completely finished. but is very close. maybe only a week or two away! This car offers exceptional value and profit to the keen buyer/restorer who can finish this car himself. or have the car finished up by a local shop. There are hardly any( or very few) items that are required to purchase at this time to finish this project.  This car has had numerous sensible and usable upgrades included with the restoration. The chassis-frame has been expensively upgraded and replaced with a Jule chassis featuring thicker gauge steel than the original. adding huge rigidity to the entire structure. The car also received the rack and pinion/steering column conversion along with the Putzke's Fahrspass Bilstein tube shock conversion on both the front and rear suspension. The front and rear fenders and trunk lid have been upgraded to new alloy items. There is a high torque starter and alternator installed. along with a spin-on oil filter adaptor. auxilary electric cooling fan. flex fan. electronic ignition. and upgraded fuel pump with filter. The wheels are a brand new 72-spoke chrome set (4) with new radial tires and a set of knock-offs. There is a brand Moss Motors new polished stainless steel exhaust system that has yet to be installed.  This car was completely disassembled for restoration. The chassis-frame and panels were completely restored for about $25. 00. Paintwork is exceptionally good. in the correct Colorado Red shade for a 1967 Healey. It appears to be a fresh. crisp paintjob in basecoat/clearcoat. completely unmarked. color-sanded and buffed to perfection. Bodywork and paint was performed by a specialist shop known for their work on their Rolls-Royces. All panel gaps are excellent and appear factory correct. The complete frame and body were correctly painted per original. All suspension components were restored. front and rear. with new kingpins. bushes. and road springs. All of the braking system was rebuilt or replaced. and new stainless brake lines. upgraded flexy lines. and a new booster were installed. The engine was completely rebuilt with receipts. along with the gearbox being overhauled with bearings. seals. and syncros. The radiator was rebuilt. The carburetor set was rebuilt. and the complete fuel system was renewed.  The Ambla trim kit was purchased from John Skinner Ltd. the expert in Austin-Healey trim. There is a new Everflex top partially installed. along with a matching tonneau cover. The whole interior is new including the carpet kit. armbar set. seat kits front and rear. seat foam. etc. along with a new beautiful wood veneered dashboard. A new wiring harness is fitted. There is a set of new bumpers. front and rear. The existing chromework is nice overall. but could be replated at a later date. There is a large file of expensive receipts that accompany this beautiful restoration. documenting all of the expenses and work performed. There are about 3 or 4 plastic storage tubs containing saved old parts. and some extra new ones.  Overall. this 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK3 offered for sale here is incredible value when one compares it to a nice donor car for complete restoration (valued currently at $25. 00-30. 00). It offers a huge shortcut. both labor and money-wise. to a lovely ground-up. freshly restored/finished car with some very nice upgrades. With just a few weeks of effort to perform a final button-up and a finishing up of some loose ends. this beautiful Big Healey can be enjoyed on the open road by it's new owner.  This car is located in Southern California and available for inspection by appointment. It is sold with a clear title. $64.900.
