1949 MG TC ROADSTER. 1250cc. 4-SPEED. WIRE WHEELS. RED WITH TAN TRIM.
KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS offers for sale here on Ebay a very charming and delightful MG TC Roadster that harkens back to a bygone era. This car was originally built as an EXU car. meaning "export unit". Only 494 of these were produced and included bumpers. special lights and upgraded dashboard. twin horns. and other add-ons for the American market. The EXUs amount to less than 5% of all TC production. This car was recently purchased from it's meticulous. longtime. East Coast owner that took very good care of it. There is a large folder of receipts in which he didn't hesitate to have any and all things attended to when needed. with no expense spared ! From 2005 to 2011. mechanical reconditioning and servicing amounted to $20. 31 (parts and labor). It is safe to say this car is in very good mechanical health ! It was greatly enjoyed during the summer months. It appears to have been nicely restored cosmetically some years back. which is now showing it's age in some areas. There are a few chips and blemishes in the paintwork here and there. The interior trim is in good overall condition. The car's overall appearance is very nice and attractive as seen by the photos. and the car is in an approachable. very clean. usable state.  The car is mechanically excellent. There is no smoke or unusual noises on cold start up. Oil pressure always registers between 55-60 psi. hot or cold. The engine is very happy to rev with a nice and clean healthy exhaust note. The gearbox shifts well for it's age. The car runs. stops. brakes and steers as well as expected for a sports car of this era. The chassis and suspension is very good. with recently rebuilt shock absorbers. The body feels nicely mounted onto the chassis rails with no rattles or squeaks. and the car drives confidently down the road.  The body overall is excellent with very nice panels and solid wood. The doors and hood halves all line up well.  All gauges appear fully operational. and all of the dashboard switchgear looks original.  The engine block number matches the data plate. Everything mechanically looks very well in order.  This car has a decent beige cloth soft top and a full set of side curtains in the same matching material.  The sale of this car includes an original instruction manual and also a parts list book.  both from 1948.  The feel of this car is that of an exceptional original with a one-time. older cosmetic re-do. It is a very nice. very honest. very well preserved. attractive TC in a great color scheme. It was clearly loved by it's previous gentleman owner. It offers a fun and very rewarding driving experience for a period sports car of the late 1940's.  This car is located in Southern California and can be viewed by appointment. It is sold with a clear title. $27. 00.
