Seller's notes: "This 100% rust-free beauty has just awakened from a long sleep. Since last titled in 1995 the car has only been driven 1500 miles. The car spent 19 years in storage covered with five layers of sheets and blankets. The car has a clear Ohio title. Since we acquired the car all we did was go through it and replace rear brake cylinders and shoes, resurface the drums, put on a new fuel pump, check and change fluids and give it a tune up. It fires instantly and drives like a new one. If you ever wanted a really cherry, fun to drive British roadster this is it. Keep it cherry and it can only go up in value."

This 100% rust-free beauty has just awakened from a long sleep.   Since last titled in 1995 the car has only been driven 1500 miles.   The car spent 19 years in storage covered with five layers of sheets and blankets.

The car has a clear Ohio title. We were told the original owner was Marge Schott. owner of the Cincy Reds.   Purportedly she passed the car to her daughter. and it came to the party we bought if from after long garage storage. The car is 100% original in all respects.

The Brooklands Green paint is gorgeous - see pics.   So is all the chrome and trim. The interior is spotless - the seats have always been covered with the factory seat covers that came from the factory with the car.   Since we acquired the car all we did was go through it and replace rear brake cylinders and shoes. resurface the drums. put on a new fuel pump. check and change fluids and give it a tune up.   It fires instantly and drives like a new one.   If you ever wanted a really cherry. fun to drive British sports car. nbsp; this is it.

Just before we acquired the car it received  four new tires (less than 100 miles on them) and a new SS exhaust system.   The engine compartment. the floors and pans. the trunk area. the underside everywhere are all rust free.   No dings. dents. bondo or repaint - ever!

The interior is clean and completely original.   The only flaws on the car that come to mind are a slight seam separation the top at the base of the back window - not visible -  and two missing snaps on the tonneau.   Both are easily corrected.   Carpets. mats even pedals are as new.   The teak dash is perfect and has the SCCA Champion plaque in place. as well as the folding map light.   It has the proper  racing stripes and insignia throughout and they are all factory originals - not after market add-ons.

The engine is smooth and peppy.   The transmission and clutch work perfectly for smooth shifting up or down. Amazingly. nbsp; the car shows no drips.   Under the hood the car is very sanitary.   Everything works.   Being a 1500. it's really a pleasure to drive.   I think it's the most bang for the buck you can find in a road-ready. easy-to-maintain. vintage sports car.   Maintenance is simple. and parts are inexpensive and readily available.   Buying this car. in this condition. is a no-brainer.   Properly driven and cared for it will only appreciate in value.

This could well be the nicest original Spitfire available anywhere.   Inspection is invited. by appointment. in Downers Grove. IL.
