Named from the Spanish term El Dorado. the English translation being The Golden One. it was meant to be a significant honor to the bearer. Cadillac utilized this phrase with its model series called Eldorado beginning in 1953. using special accents to signify the high-end trim refinements and the car's gold badging. Changes to cars each year continued to improve the style and overall looks. including the introduction of the 2-door coupe by 1956. known as the Eldorado Seville. This required the convertible to become more officially named the Eldorado Biarritz!
