1956 Austin A30 -

Model HistoryThe car was launched at the 1951 Earls Court Motor Show. It was still called the Austin 7 or to give it's full name the Austin A30 Seven. First Production of the AS3 A30 was predominately for the export market and it wasn't until 1953 that the British public got to drive the car although the car was available to the motoring press during 1952. The car was initially produced as a four door saloon. in October 1953 the A2S4 2-door A30 model was added to the range. The A30 was replaced by the A35 in 1956 after selling almost a quarter of a million units. Interior & EquipmentThe original interior has a small split on the drivers seat but everything else in in excellent order. New carpets have been fitted throughout. The headlining is perfect. all clocks and gauges work as they should. ExteriorThe original colour blue paintwork is in excellent order with only 2 small marks where the paint has been caught this does not distract to the immaculate overall appearance and is an easy fix should you require show standard. The underside of this Baby Austin is immaculate and every bit as good as on the top. Even though more modern indicators have been fitted to this car the original semaphores still operate with the hazard warning lights. Wheels. Tyres & BrakesThe original pressed steel disc wheels are in good order as are the tyres. The original chrome centres have a small amount of pitting but we have a brand new set if required. Engine & TransmissionBoth the engine and engine bay are immaculate and to show standard. The super reliable engine starts 1st time every time with no leaks or rattles. The manual box and clutch is smooth and effortless. SummaryThis is an excellent opportunity to own an ever popular Baby Austin A30. This much loved car comes with a folder full of receipts and history dating back to the original buff log book when she was first registered 1st January 1956 in Surrey. She has the correct AS24 chassis number confirming a genuine 1956 two door saloon and still has the original registration number issued from new. There are past MOT's dating back to 1974. some old style tax discs. had written service receipts etc etcHaving only had a few attentive keepers this little gem has come from a private collection and has only covered a mere 61 miles in the last 4 years. She falls under the free road tax bracket and is now MOT exempt although we continue to MOT all of our cars as we have nothing to hide and its piece of mind for us when selling a classic that the vehicle is to the highest safety inspection available. We have owned several of these little A30's and they do not hang around long. This is a fine example to enjoy at local shows or just to enjoys on the occasional day out to put a smile on your face.
