1935 Fordson Model N Vintage Tractor Water Washer - Family owned since 1949

Beautiful Fordson Model N tractor for sale.

This is a rare Water Washer Model N.

The tractor was first registered in 1935. and according to the records found on the internet. it was also manufactured in 1935.

This tractor has been in the same family since 1949.   We believe that it was bought from the original owners. the British Sugar Corporation in Worcestershire in 1949.   Since then. it has been owned by members of the same family.   According to my Father-In-Law. the tractor was bought in 1949 by Frank Lewis (as detailed on the log book).   It is Frank's daughter Betty who is pictured driving it in the black and white photos attached.   It was bequeathed in 1960 to Frank's daughter Betty and was registered in her husband's name Mr Rhys Bayliss.   It was later transferred to Frank's son. Mr Wilfred Lewis. on 7th August 1962. at the Bull's Head in Craswell.   Rhys Bayliss had promised the tractor to his niece Marie Bayliss. and it was registered in her husband's name in November 1997.   Marie is my Mother In Law and it remains registered and kept by my father in law.

On acquiring it in 1997. it was still in running order. but in need of some cosmetic love!  This can be seen in the pictures.   He set about having it properly restored to the near original condition it can be found today.   There are several pictures of the tractor during its restoration back in 1997. and included is a further photo of the tractor in action in the late 1940s. being driven by my mother-in-law's Great Aunt.   Enclosed is also a photo of the original log book. detailing owners from 1949 to 1969 and also includes fuel rations stamps from 1949!

The photos also show my father in law with his prize for best in class for the restored tractor.   This was after he had the tractor restored back to the condition it can be found in today.   The quality of the restoration work is clear when you see the tractor's condition. now nearly 16 years later.   Included in the restoration works was:

Complete De-rust of the tractor
Complete strip down of the front end of the tractor
New King Pins fitted
New Steering Pins fitted
New Air Cleaner Gasket
Repair to the fuel tank. fuel tap and new fuel filter
New Exhaust Pipe
Starting handle repaired
Fully Primed and resprayed in original colour
New front tyres.

The tractor starts first time (with a little elbow grease at the handle!).   We welcome any inspection.   The tractor is based near Abergavenny in South Wales.
