Triumph Spitfire 1500 1976

Hello! 

Welcome to my ebay sale of my Triumph Sptifire 1500. This is a great little car and I've had to really force myself to place this advert. however. trying to get on the housing ladder means I have to make some sacrifices :-( 

I've had this car for 18 months and in that time I have kept her regularly serviced. with oil changes / filter changes / any little bits that need doing. I also replaced the engine with a new 1500 engine just after I purchased this as the old one was not so great. I've had no problems since owning it and for a classic it has never let me down! I only use it in the dry. and it has been garaged in a secure car park in Cambridge. It also looks stunning and gets compliments wherever it goes!

I would class the overall condition of the car as 'very good' - however. everyone's standards are different. so please contact me if you wish to view. The paintwork is very good. but as it has been used on the road and not stored in a museum wrapped in cotton wool - there are some minor marks /cracks in the paint - but they are not noticeable until you hunt from them.

If I were to keep the car longer - I would replace the rear suspension. as like all Spitfires they start to sag and all need doing every few years. Good news for you is that I will be throwing in a rear leaf spring suspension worth about 100. 00GBP that I haven't got round to fitting.

The carbs will need an adjustment I think as well. as it is just a little bit high on the tickover at the moment.

Although this car is good - please do not expect a NEW car. THIS CAR IS 38 YEARS OLD AND THIS SHOULD BE REMEMBERED WHEN JUDGING ITS CONDITION.

With just a little bit more maintenance and upkeep. this car could be very very good indeed. To help you do this I also have a little bit of touch up paint in the right colour should you ever need it :-)

The car recently had new tyres fitted and comes with both a hardtop and a soft top. Please can the buyer let me know if they wish the hardtop fitting on it when they come to collect it - as it is not currently.

Car starts and runs well. and gearbox is fine.

Interior is in good condition - although my girlfriend trapped the passenger seat belt in the door. so it dragged along the ground and got a bit frayed at the end. It is still functional but will need replacing for the next MOT. It also needs new wiper blades.

If you want to test drive the car. I will require a full cash deposit and proof of insurance. Otherwise it is a passenger ride only!

Car is solid underneath and there is no rust. Soft top and tonneau cover (yes it has one of these also) is in good condition

Was restored in 2011 / 2012 by Scorpion Autos and I really would like to see this go to a good home.
