1930 Austin 7 Seven Saloon

1930 Austin 7 Saloon. chassis no 122301. car no. B2 5275. engine no. 152676 (originally 122846) registered 28/11/1930 as 'black austin 7 saloon'.
Car is currently taxed but not MOT'd. We've owned it for a couple of years and is only for sale as we're losing an area of storage. There is no history at all with the car just a current V5c.
The car starts. runs. drives and stops. holds oil and water with no major leaks. Oil guage shows 15-20 psi from cold and between 3-5 when warmed and driving. Engine is coil with vertical oil filler and rearward starter as original but with a later number. Carb is a new tractor 24t carb. non original but improves performance over original.
Head and side lights working. no brake lights. dynamo charges. new battery fitted last year.
Car is tidy but by no means concourse. paintwork is very good but not perfect. a few small scratches here and there. Interior is very tidy and not as red as the pictures show(!) Really the car needs to be used and improved but we've got too many other projects on to do it ourselves so wants a good new home.
We bought the car complete but in need of paint and upholstery which we did. We've driven it about 20 miles so it just needs a bit more use.
Below i'll try to list points that are difficult to pick out in the pics so you're not disappointed when you see the car
- bonnet fit not perfect at the front. though more than adequate. - rad shell would be better nickelled as original- bonnect catch fixture to wing not original but functional- horn non original. and a pathetic 'beep'- wiring needs a little tidying but all there and working- windscreen original but not rechromed so could be improved (a small bit of glass is missing in the screen at the top left hand edge. not too noticeable but there)- vacuum wiper has worked once. but just the once. would need investigating!- control rods and levers in place but not connected at engine side. - no interior door handle and front windows dont wind they're fixed. the second part of the front windows slide as original. - car is an aluminium rk underneath and has been fabric covered.
The car does of course have some good points as well that should be evident in the photos it just needs a loving home and a proper shakedown.
The reserve is very very reasonable as sadly it needs to be out of the way.
