1971 MGB GT BLAZE ORANGE MANUAL OVERDRIVE for sale
The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster. a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. In structure the MGB was an innovative. modern. design in 1962. utilizing a moncoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's rival. the Triumph TR series. However components such as brakes and suspension were developments of the earlier 1955 MGA with the B-Series engine having its origins in 1947. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard. and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom.
We acquired this particular example from a Mansfield lady after the passing of her late husband. The vehicle had been in storage since 1993 due to a fault with the braking system that had not been addressed. This was until we got a phone call. Upon collecting the vehicle we started off by addressing the entire braking system. Replacing both rear brake cylinders. brake shoes. brake fluid and front calipers ensuring that the whole system was brought back up to its best. This twinned with overhauling the fuel system; rebuilding the carburettor's and flushing the fuel tank. lines of any build up that may have accumulated over the years. All engine and transmission fluids were also changed As a result the vehicle now drives better than it would have done before it was parked up. developing good acceleration and deceleration as whenever needed.
The underside has been professionally wax oiled to a high standard to prevent any form of corrosion. There is no sign of any water ingress throughout any of the beautifully finished Blaze orange paint work (including the usual spots at the top of the front and rear wheel arches. sills or door shuts) Ready to be used and enjoyed on a sunny day.
