Ford Escort Mk3 RS1600i

Mk3 Escort RS1600i. A878GEH. Diamond White. She has all original panels and paintwork. has covered around 55k original miles with all MOT's and Tax discs from new apart from the very first. 3 family owners from new. She is not concourse. but VERY good original condition with a little lead filling or weld required on both sides of the rear valance. and a hole in the original o/s outer sill which has NO rot behind it but was filled with fibreglass to get it through the last MOT. The floorpan underneath the carpets is totally mint and all factory stickers are still in the boot. and original slam panel stickers for the hatchback. The car also comes with three (3) fully working ECU's which all work with this car. The dashboard has one SMALL crack – otherwise totally MINT. and the sunroof is also mint with no rust marks or rot. Comes with original Hella spots too. Comes with a lovely period top-end Kenwood stereo installed. I have been in two minds whether to get the small repair jobs done (very easy without having to replace original panels) and have a bottom half respray done behind the decals (I have original Ford replacements decals which will come with the car) or just put up with it and keep her 98% original!!!! I have been advised that her originality makes her more valuable. She always starts first time even after 3 months lay-up and drives beautifully. Magnecore leads fitted too. Engine bay is original and immaculate apart from a new battery tray which was fitted by the second owner in the 1990's. Wheelarches are original and mint. and all sills are original and solid apart from the small hole detailed earlier in the o/s outer sill. All of the underbody has been rust treated with Dynax. I have been quoted £1500. 00 by a top vehicle restorer to get the minor bodywork issues and a bottom half respray done to an exceptional standard…. to the point of not be able to tell the work has actually been done. RDP955 plate is not included in this auction. This is a standard un-restored example and could after the repairs have been done be considered to be pristine. I am off work and on holiday for the next two weeks and viewings are available from Monday 26th May. If she is not sold this week then I will keep her and not offer her for sale again in the near future. Viewings are in Ludlow. Shropshire.
