This is a RUST-FREE. stock-straight. unmodified. and unmolested extra-ordinarily low-mileage. nbsp;original vehicle. with some very attractive features. including the desirable European headlamps. trim European bumpers. and special-order orthopedic heated seats.  The combination of silver blue exterior. dark blue soft top. and gray leather interior makes this example particularly appealing.
The 2. 8 liter M110 double overhead camshaft. fuel-injected engine fitted in the W107 Sport Leicht chassis was not offered in the USA. making it a scarce combination.  The 2. 8 liter engine produces more-than-respectable acceleration and performance. while delivering improved fuel economy over its V8 counterparts.
The car comes with an interesting back story.  It was originally ordered by a well-to-do individual from the Middle East. who ordered seven identical 280SL cars. but in seven different colors. one to drive for each day of the week.  Upon delivery of this beautiful silver blue car. the customer rejected it. because the color reminded him too much of a previous wife.  An executive from Mercedes then sold the vehicle to a relative in the USA.  And so it comes to be that the car nicknamed "Wednesday". is offered to you today.
This 280SL was imported into the USA in 1985.  It was converted to USA DOT safety standards. and was certified by the US DOT on 1 July 1986. and by the EPA on 16 July 1985. as being in conformity with Federal emissions standards.  It has been regularly registered and driven sporatically throughout its life.  Its storage conditions were very good. as the undercarriage is nice and clean; it's just what you would expect to see under a 10. 45 mile rust-free car.  It has spent much time in storage. and comes to you just as it is.  On the road. this vehicle feels like a new car.
The air conditioning system was installed in Europe. and still contains R12 refrigerant.  We have found small imperfections in the factory-original paintwork. The car has its O. E. tool kit. first aid kit. lifting jack. and emergency warning triangle.  Also. there are two spare keys in their OE envelopes. and two Owner's Manuals - one in English and one in German.  Service records. EPA & DOT certification papers. and other supporting documents accompany the vehicle.  New tires were installed in 2011.
Please write with any questions you may have.  We can also provide more photographs. if desired.
Upon your successful bid for this fine machine. a deposit in the amount of $1000. 00 will be required within 24 hours.
Thank you kindly for your interest.
