1948 Ford F1 Stepside Pickup Truck Restored. Very nice!

Where do I start? Ok. I am selling this lovely recently restored Ford F1 truck on behalf of the owner Pete. I sold Pete this truck as a restoration project around 2 years ago.  It's a half ton short bed stepside  It was all there. with original drive train. 226 cubic inch Flathead 6 motor coupled to floor shift transmission. It's fair to say it was showing its age and was in need of a little love! (The last photo is as I sold it) It's fair to say that this great truck has indeed received lots of love over many months. Pete and his son restored it to be a dependable. practical and fun truck. It was never his intention to create a show winning trailer queen. rather a truck that could be just used and enjoyed. Yes the colour perhaps isn't to everyones taste but it is a very striking imposing vehicle none the less!
The truck was stripped to the last nut and bolt. everything shot blasted to bare metal. any corrosion was cut out and replaced with new. There is no bondo/ filler in this truck. It;s all metal. The Chassis and underside components are like brand new. the entire brake system is new. It is still running all 4 drum brakes . The original steering box was rebuilt.  The wheels and tyres are new. they are 245-75-16 and I think you'll agree fill out the wheel arches well? The original 16" wheels and tyres are included too.
The original motor runs like a swiss watch. The head was removed for inspection and a new gasket fitted. All new pipes. hoses consumables have been fitted.  The truck has been converted to 12 volts with alternator for practicality. all cab gauges work and again have been converted to take 12 volts. A modern volt meter has been added to show charging.
The interior of the truck to my mind is the best part of this truck. It really is a very nice place to be! The dash gauges have been restored and the original vacuum wiper is now electric. There is sound proofing on the floor. new headliner adorning the roof and the original bench seat and door cards have been finished in a lovely navy blue vinyl with orange piping. The seat is very comfortable.  It really does make you grin just sitting in it! All cab glass and rubbers are new all round. there is also an original heater in the cab which has a new heater blower installed.
The truck as you can see has been sprayed in this very fetching orange. Yes you will get noticed. no doubt about that. The finish is generally very good. without wishing to offend Pete I would classthe paint work as nice driver quality. Yes there are some small imperfections however there is NO BONDO/BODY FILLER . The truck is all metal and solid as a rock.  No corners have been cut with the metal work.
In summary. The truck I would say is 90% orginal. yes the owner made his own side steps to replace the originals that were too far gone. They could easily be replaced with reproduction original style if you preferred. The truck bed has been lined in checker plate for practicality. As said earlier the original 16" wheels and tyres are included . It is a pointless and fruitless task to list every new component fitted to this truck. virtually everything has either been replaced with new or refurbished. The truck road fund license is free of charge. it is MOT exempt too. It is all UK registered with number plates . comes with the V5 and is ready to jump in and drive home. IT IS A TURN KEY ROAD READY TRUCK.
