Cortina mk1 1500 GT 2 door restoration project

Genuine 1500GT 2 door needing full restoration. /p>

This is a lhd car which i have just bought back from the Algarve in Portugal + is the 1st of a few Cortinas that i will be offering over the next few months. /p>

The car as you can see needs plenty of work and is not complete but being a genuine 2 door GT is still a very worthwhile project. /p>

 Genuine 2 door GTs as you know are now very rare + very collectable + this is perfect entry level into this market. /p>

Its perfect to build an historic race car being lhd it will suit alot of the UK tracks + having no interior will then not matter either. /p>

No engine or box but still retains it original linked rear axle with 9" drums and cast radius arms + one piece prop. /p>

Theres no bootlid in pics but it now has a good one fitted. /p>

The original colour of the car which you can prob see in places is a kind of blue/green metallic which was prob an export colour + not normally seen on UK mk1 GTs. /p>

It has its good points and some not so good and really needs viewing to see exactly what it needs welding wise etc. /p>

The car has never been welded though so atleast what you see is what you get + your not putting right years of other peoples bodgys. /p>

It has mint inner wings (chassis number still stamped on o/s top plate) + slam panel + the bulkhead only has a 2 tiny holes 1 each side of the lower plenum + the front panels pretty good too. inner cills good. under rear seat + wheel tubs are all rust free. o/s rear lower is good

It does need lots of welding + panels so please please only bid if you know whats involved. /p>

I am waiting to recieve the Portugese V5 from my friend who owned the car in Portugal who has applied for a duplicate V5 as he cant find the original + im not suprised as he prob has about 200 or so old Fords at his premises but knows he has it somewhere. the duplicate or original V5 will be sent to me whichever turns up 1st + i will then pass this on to the winning bidder. the car does however retain its original reg nos + chassis tag + the o/s inner wing has the vin number still stamped in it. /p>

I will also be including a complete used rust free boot floor with chassis rails + also a complete rust free main floor which i cut out of a 2 door mk2 (same) this will save alot of time + money alone using the parts of these needed. you will still need to replace the front footwell areas. /p>

It basicly needs the floors doing (used supplied) A panels. outer cills. rear arches. n/s rear lower + wheel well. rear panel. A pillars. front wings. door repaired. light repairs to front chassis rails. outriggers. jacking points + prob other small bits. /p>

I have notified HMRC of the cars arrival into the UK (NOVA) + now once its MOTd/Insured/Taxed(free) you can apply to DVLA for an age related UK V5 + this costs £55. /p>

I have some other nos + used MK1 panels which i can offer to the buyer. /p>

I can also deliver the car to any mainland UK address for £1. 30 per mile one way from SS7 but CAR + TRANSPORT will need to be paid in full 1st. /p>
