chrysler newport custom coupe 1967 383ci v8 mopar same engine as jensen rat look

it is with a very heavy heart that I have to sell my Chrysler Newport custom coupe.

1 of only 2 coupes I know to in the country. that being said parts are not hard to get at all. and with the help of a American site that is all about c body mopars info is easily at hand.

chrysler sold these engines to Jensen [as well as the 440ci] back when they made the interceptor. so again engine parts aren't hard to get.

the car.

she is a tax exempt 1967 2 door coupe. I bought her a few years ago and have used her a fair amount but now is the time to sell her on.

as you can see from the pics. she is in a sort of mat black paint. that has faded and washed off over time. but I like the patina anyway.

she does have filler in her and has had welding done by me and others in the past

bad bits.

drum brakes all round. very scarry indeed sometimes.

she splutters a bit and could do with a good tune up.

reversing lights not working [one missing]

the power steering pump leaks .

the windscreen has scratches on it that looks like vandal damage. been told some of these will polish out?

really needs a new boot floor welding in as it has had one of sorts put in before I owned it. but it isn't fitted good.

1 electric window works [drivers]

radio is there but has been disconnected?

l/h exhaust blows a bit.

rear bumper is dented; front has chrome flaking

seats tatty. but I just throw a big blanket over them anyway.

general bodywork is tatty but not beyond saving.

there will be jobs/work that need doing I have missed off the listing.

she is after all 47 years old.

I have fitted some 15x7 rims on her so the tyre choice is better.

she sounds mean as hell. but not to loud.

if your shy. jog on as the amount of people who ask for pictures is unreal.

almost as many ask what colour are you painting her. that's annoying

to top it off. your more likely to see a buggati then another one of these newports [there are a few 300's around].

ive been critical as I don't want you to turn up expecting something this old girl isn't.

do not expect a show stopper. and it may well need work for the next mot.

she is well used and 47 years old. I haven't spent money on looks. just on keeping her running.

if you really are intrested you should come and have a look.

but don't expect a test drive cause that is not gonna happen.

I do have a Jensen inlet manifold so a 4 barrel carb can be fitted [stock is a 2 barrel for economy!!!!]. I also have a holly 600 cfm carb that needs a rebuild. these will be offered to the winning bidder for £100 non negotiable.

im more then willing to take you out for a spin with you as a passenger. but due to problems in the past I would rather not let people test drive it.

ok I cant add anymore pics for some reason. the las one I put up shows the r/h rear quarter panel. this is visually the worst part of the car and appears to be a fibergalss repair.

but as I said there is filler in the car. and it has had repairs in the past.
