Volkswagen Beetle 1300cc 1966 in black with red interior
This is my listing for my much loved Beetle that I have decided to sell to fund my next project.
This car spent 45 years owned by the same family (alot of time spent in storage) and has lots of paperwork and even a letter of validation to the authenticity of the family ownership.  The car has had 4 previous owners. 3 being from the Pickett family. (Mother. Father. Son).  In the 12 months alone the car has had over £3000 spent on various work including;Welding repairs to heater channels. rear quarter panel. both lower door skins. Full engine service2x New TyresRespray on both sides (after door repairs)Ball Joints. Tie Rod ends. Front bearingsAdjustable Front Beam2. 5" Drop SpindlesWaxoyl Undersealed
All the welding work and lowering was carried out by Lust for Rust and BeetleLink. both very well known reputable companies in the Volkswagen scene and carried the work out to a very high standard.
The car has a lot of very original features such as the interior including the original rubber carpet which is very unusual.  The driver seat has a tear and ive not got around to deciding what to do with it. but it does add some character as do the bare metal patches on the wings.  I just keep these regularly waxed so they do not rust. again if your into the Volkswagen scene you will understand why i have left these areas like this. can be easily resprayed though if its not your thing!  The same can be said for the stance on this beetle. its very low!  Fully adjustable beam on the front which can still go lower. or higher for a more comfortable ride.  The rear has been adjusted on the torsion beam 2 splines. You do have to be careful when driving this car as the tyres do rub occasionally with a "heavy" passenger. and if you carry passengers often it would benefit from new front shocks if you wish to maintain the height. or just raise it up a little on the beam.  Due to this car having so many original features nothing has been cut or chopped. so if you prefer it to be back original. its possible.
Along with the work I have carried out I also have many receipts and invoices from the previous owners.  The car was in dry storage for many years and although im unable to prove it. I believe that the mileage is correct and only completed 97k miles.  The car still has its original engine (matching engine number on V5c) that drives perfectly and has never let me down on short or long journeys.  Also still running on its 6 volt!!
More pictures available that I will happily send to you. including pictures of the welding work being carried out. Also drove it to the Apex Festival at Lydden Hill yesterday (10th May) where it got lots of attention and got me thinking that I should not be selling it. so don't be to surprised if I change my mind!
This is a chance to own a very solid Beetle that can be used and enjoyed straight away and for many years to come as all the hard work has been completed.  Ive been in the Volkswagen scene for a while and the only reason Im selling my beetle is to buy a Volkswagen Camper so that my young family can join in with my hobby a bit more.
I've probably missed loads of important information so please feel free to email and Ill do my best to answer your questions. Also feel free to come and view/drive before bidding. Im based in Kent.
The reserve is set lower than the Buy it now. Ive put the buy it now price in as this saves answering the same questions over and over. if you want to own it without bidding that is the price.  Im in no hurry and as I said im not 100% sure I want to sell but will for the right money. so please reframe from silly offers.
Deposit of £200 to be paid via paypal 24 hours after auction ends. balance to be made in full before release of car.
Good Luck
