Recently arrived with all duties paid. currently being registered in the UK; this beautiful 1968 ‘BULLITT' Mustang Fastback finished in stunning ‘Highland green'.

The early year Fastback Mustangs are becoming increasingly hard to find. especially unmolested. rust free examples. This car was sold new by Bill Hackett Ford Sales from Michigan in 1968. As far as we are aware it has stayed in Michigan all of its life and this is where I sourced this lovely vehicle.

The Mustang fastback gained popular culture status when used in the crime thriller Bullitt in 1968. Lt Frank Bullitt. played by actor Steve McQueen. drove a modified Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT Fastback. This stunning car is a tribute to the one seen in the film.

Exterior

Finished in stunning Highland green. there has been very nice recent dual stages repaint. All panels line up perfectly and this model has the attractive simulated scoops on the rear quarter panels.

All chrome work is bright and straight with no pitting and she also has a chrome rocker panel which is very attractive.

She is sitting on four new ‘Eleanor' style wheels which look fantastic and all four radial tyres are in great condition.

Interior

The interior of the car is also in outstanding condition with light green two tone bucket seats. door panels and recent carpets were installed. The original dash pad and soft trim is in excellent condition.

The interior is really nice as well with the upgraded overhead console option with map lights. plus floor centre console and a nice dash. Being a fastback this car also has the useable fold down sport deck rear seats.

The car also has a very nice period after market radio that looks the business and overall the interior really is lovely and has a great premium factory original look.

Mechanics

Mechanically this car is in outstanding condition. it is equipped with the factory 289 V-8 engine (4740cc) with original C4 Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission and 2. 79 conventional rear axle. The car also benefits from a brand new full twin exhaust system.

Being a restomod. substantial money has been spent upgrading this car with work including…

New petrol tank. springs rebuilt. new shocks. Flowmaster mufflers. rear drum brakes. upgraded new front disks. new brake lines. new power steering lines. Cobra air intake. Cobra valve covers. Holly 4 barrel carb. jet coated headers and an Edelbrock performer RPM intake.

All of these upgrades really make this a special and formidable car. she will obviously come with one full years MOT. being a 68 she is also road tax free.

The car also benefits from factory power steering. the braking system works extremely well and the engine bay has been. This car really looks great and is a Mustang to be proud of.

PLATINUM INVESTMENT

Generally this represents an outstanding example of the much sought after and appreciating 68 model. With this being the 50th anniversary of the first Ford Mustang prices are set to increase. particularly of the much rarer fastback models. So why keep your money in the bank ‘loosing' 1% a year when you could invest in something a little more entertaining!

VIN 8F02C177752

The Marti Report validates the VIN number as per the make and model and also represents how the car looked when it rolled out of the factory. The stunning car has been lovingly restored with a huge amount of money being spent and represents an excellent investment in motoring history.

Garage kept. pampered. and serviced. this car could not be nicer. This car has been refreshed. detailed and ready to drive or show.
