Recently arrived with all duties paid. currently being registered; this beautiful 1967 Mustang Fastback finished in stunning ‘Candy apple red'.
The early year Fastback Mustangs are becoming increasingly hard to find. especially unmolested. rust free examples. This car was sold new by Dunton Ford of Santa Ana. California in 1967. It stayed with its original owner until purchased by California Owner #2 in 1976. The car remained with him including a move to Texas in 1993 were it stayed until recently.
After a three month search I purchased the car in Florida as an excellent. restored to original example of the highly desirable 1967/68 Fastback.
Exterior
Arguably this has to be the best colour combinations and will draw attention wherever you go. There was a very nice recent dual stage repaint in the factory Candy apple Red. All panels line up perfectly and this model has the attractive simulated scoops on the rear quarter panels.
All chrome work is bright and straight with no pitting and she also has a chrome rocker panel which is very attractive.
She is sitting on four new magnum wheels which look fantastic and all four BF Goodrich radial tyres are in great condition.
Interior
The interior of the car is also in outstanding condition with new red bucket seats (correct as per the original factory specification). door panels and recent carpets were installed. The original dash pad and soft trim is in excellent condition.
Being the much rarer luxury model this car rolled out the factor with the upgraded ‘Interior Décor Group'. Therefore this car boasts the overhead console option with map lights and very attractive chrome door plates. Being a fastback this car also has the useable fold down sport deck rear seats.
The car also has a very nice period Mustang replacement radio that looks the business and overall the interior really is lovely and has a great premium factory original look.
Mechanics
Mechanically this car is in outstanding condition. it is equipped with the factory 289 V-8 engine (4740cc) with original C4 Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission and 2. 79 conventional rear axle. The car also benefits from a brand new full twin exhaust system.
Everything works exactly as it should and the car will obviously come with one full years MOT. being a 67 she is also road tax free.
The car also benefits from factory power steering. the braking system works extremely well and the engine bay has been restored to original with a lovely standard air intake and valve covers finished in blue as per the original specification. This really looks great and is far more original in its look and specification compared to most Mustangs out there.
PLATINUM INVESTMENT
Generally this represents an outstanding example of the much sought after and appreciating 67 model. With this being the 50th anniversary of the first Ford Mustang prices are set to increase. particularly of the much rarer fastback models. So why keep your money in the bank ‘loosing' 1% a year when you could invest in something a little more entertaining!
VIN 7R02C210572
The Marti Report validates the VIN number as per the make and model and also represents how the car looked when it rolled out of the factory in California. The stunning car has been faithfully restored and detailed exactly to the original specification and represents an excellent investment in motoring history.
Garage kept. pampered. and serviced. this car could not be nicer. This car has been refreshed. detailed and ready to drive or show.
