1989 Jaguar XJ-S Convertible V12 - Low Mileage - Excellent Example

Model History

The Jaguar XJS had the unenviable task of following the 1961 to 1975 E-Type Jaguar that set the standard for luxury sport cars. The 1987 Jaguar XJS is one of the 1975 to 1996 XJS luxury grand tourers. The XJS is more aerodynamic than the E-Types. but earned mediocre reviews for its perceived poor workmanship during the strike-plagued 1970s of the auto industry in England. However. V-12-powered XJS models have since become highly sought collectibles.

Interior & Equipment

The grey luxury leather is superb with no adverse wear or tear. The grey carpets are excellent throughout. All gauges work correctly as they should. the digital computer has no missing segments in its display. The electric lumber and heated seats operate perfectly. The interior is true luxury. An aftermarket Stereo CD player has been fitted but we have the original should you wish to change it.

Exterior

Cosmetically the car is superb. The metallic Blue paint has no corrosion issues anywhere. all the brightwork is original and excellent. The Navy Blue hood is A1 and functioning correctly it also has a navy tonneau cover. The fully electric roof operates perfectly. all original tinted glass is unmarked.

Wheels. Tyres & Brakes

The wheels are excellent having been fully refurbished at some stage. there are no kerb marks or corrosion to speak of. The all matching correct Pirelli P600 tyres are very good all round.

Engine & Transmission

The 5. 3 V12 starts on the key first time and is silky smooth in operation. she pulls strong and idles faultlessly. The automatic gearbox selects easily and changes gear smoothly as you would expect. We will carry out a complete check over and oil change prior to sale. She has a fully stamped service history by Jaguar upto 53518 miles back in 1998.

Summary

This lovely XJ-S convertible has come from a very good home. The previous owner bought the XJ as a 40th birthday pressie back in 1996 some 18years ago and during his ownership was only used on sunny days etc. hence only covered 9000 miles in the last 18 years.

The total mileage is low at 59k. The car was kept in a heated garage and started and run each year. Anything the car needed which has been very little it got treated to with no expense spared. Mechanically the car is excellent we will complete an oil change and check over as the car has been stood quite a lot over the last 5 or 6 years.

This XJ-S Convertible is one of those rare finds in that it has very low amount of owners (5). low miles. and a previous owner who cherished it for some 18 years.

The history file has MOT's going back to 1995 where the mileage can be verified. the original leather wallet and driver's handbooks etc. are also present. A fully stamped Jaguar service history is also present upto 53518 miles back in 1998. Original wheel jack. brace and tool kit are included.

The prices of nice XJ-S Convertibles are rocketing and we feel this one is already worth a lot more than our asking price as low mileage. original unmolested cars are the ones to have.
