Jaguar E-Type 3. 8 Roadster 1963 LHD for restoration.   Selling to fund an outside bonnet lock restoration this car is very solid and would suit a home restorer looking for something to finish as a nice driver or an excellent basis for a concours restoration.

The colour spec is the classic cream with a red interior and the car was built in March 1963. Originally exported to New York. I purchased the car from California. along with several others. as an unfinished project. The car is largely complete. but sadly in transit a few items were stolen including the rear lights. speedo. tacho and radio consol but the under bonnet was untouched. unlike my other roadster for sale. Other things the buyer will need to purchase include a new wiring loom. front lights. headlamp glasses. an exhaust and a new interior. The car has new bucket seat frames and a dash top with new vinyl / foam covering to fit.   For the UK buyers. the car is relatively easy to convert to RHD and companies such as Hutsons can provide all the parts.

Body wise this car is good and I believe still on original inner sills and floors although both have had localised work and still require some more patching or replacement. The back wings are good as is the boot floor and doors. The bonnet needs properly fitting but is in good condition and the car is sitting low due to incorrectly set torsion bars.  Mechanically the car is completely unknown but it would appear work has taken place. Personally I would strip out and check and restore as required. The engine does turn.

Properly restored this car is likely to command upward of £150k in the current market and a good home restoration driver should be worth £70k+. Having sold a similar car a few months ago with no floors and requiring almost everything for £33k to a German dealer. I fully expect my price considering comparatively how good the body is on this car.

In addition to the Heritage certificate I have the Certificate of Title from the USA and the European Import document showing the duty paid.   Please call me on 07884 072863 either evenings or all day weekends to discuss or view.

Buyer is to pay £1000 deposit within 2 working days by Bank transfer and the balance on collection. I am happy to store the car for up to 2 weeks beyond the sale. Please no scammers etc. you will be wasting your time; seen it and heard it all before!
