#339 of 1000 built at Shelby's former Whittier CA factory. now moved to Las Vegas. If you are unfamiliar with these limited production cars. google it. This example has documented 2900 miles. Odometer shows less in pic. I have been driving it when weather is good. Never driven in rain or wet conditions. I am the second owner. It was sourced in PA last year and I had it shipped out in covered transport after flying out to see it in person. I have pics and video of the entire story of this car since when I flew to purchase - present. as well as pics of work done by my mechanic in his shop. I will make a copy of these on CD/DVD for the buyer. including the arrival here on the truck with a Challenge Stradale. I have ALL documentation since new. including original window stickers. Koni shocks adjusting knob. temp tags. dealership correspondence. factory manual supplement. GLHS memorabilia. Shelby Dodge Automobile Club extras. and ALL service records done by the dealership and my local professional mechanic. Car was put away in a storage unit after a divorce with the original owner. As a result it needed some life breathed back in it when I purchased it. Before it was shipped I had full tune up and ALL fluids changed. new brakes. new MOPAR battery. new timing belt. new fuel filter. and new hatch struts installed. Once it arrived I installed the Great Lakes Hot Rod shift kit to eliminate the poor linkage that came stock (it is a plastic loop and had deteriorated. very common problem with the A525 transmission). It shifts tight and true now for the life of the vehicle. Interior is immaculate. everything works and has the factory radio/tape deck. The AC lost it's charge long ago. and the refrigerant is no longer legal. I left it attached. but do not use it so if one wanted it could be sourced and re-charged by a willing AC mechanic. No dents or dings. some slight chipping on front as this is original paint. including warranty work done by dealer. These cars left the factory with no clear coat and are susceptible to paint fade. etc. All rubber seals and hoses. etc are in excellent shape. I just pulled the car out of winter storage for the summer. I have a set of OEM upper/lower radiator hoses (which are hard to find - purchased because I had the chance) and California Car Cover NOAH model  (indoor cover only) that comes with it. Had a new OEM water pump (small leak out the weep hole) and tune-up done again to clear out residuals from the storage in PA. original tires were decomposed to be unsafe due prior owner storage. new performance Dunlops and OEM motor mounts were done last year. Could use a stock fuel pump and tank I believe in the next year or two depending how much it's driven. Original owner replaced them with used ones when he took it out to sell it. They work fine but I have noticed the signs of age. I have figured this cost into my asking price. Buyer is welcome to have a PPI inspection done by their own mechanic at their cost. I will be happy to drive the vehicle there if it is local and within an hour of my location. I am happy to help arrange transport for out of state. I was very satisfied with the company I used. but be aware covered transport by a reputable classic car company runs $2000 coast to coast.
Some minor scaling on the underside transmission housing and rust in the drain holes on the hood when the car sat on consignment in PA at a Dodge dealership neglected in the back. It is small and cosmetic. affects nothing. Last on my list to correct this year. Pics are attached in the link. That is it. no body rust. no structural issues. no metalwork etc. Car had dealer undercoating in 1987 and it protected it well. No engine or exterior/interior mods and well looked after by an adult collector. I never planned on selling this car. I am losing money as is on it. Life priorities have changed (i. e. kids). I would like to see it go to someone who will keep it's place in automotive history as it deserves. The Shelby Mustangs were considered cheap and fast too at one time. while I don't see these hitting six figures in the future. they are very. very rare. That is a big part of what drives the market regardless of the material value. I have Carfax and Autocheck from when I purchased it. Title chain is documented and I confirmed VIN and dealer history with Shelby factory myself. Paint is good. not great. I am particular about my cars so I wanted to show this one at local meets. As a Sunday driver or for the average gearhead's garage it needs nothing. This car pulls strong. handles on rails. and is everything I remember about the one I owned. The 80's were a tough time for performance cars. and this one stood out. It easily ran and beat the 5. 0's. the Z28's. and others.
Title is held with USAA. I will give a notarized release of interest while the title is sent out after payment. WA law requires 4-6 weeks. I have checked into getting it sooner but that is the best I can do. If that is an issue I can verify all this with any serious buyer. As I mentioned. I am losing quite a bit of money on this car. I am open to realistic offers. but I will keep the car before I lowball it. I have had several Sunday drivers over the years. and I looked for years before finding this rare low mileage example.
I owned #301 new when I turned 21. I know these cars and this was a "last buy" for me before things changed.   I have given full disclosure in my listing. This is a good chance to acquire a well-maintained and honest Shelby from someone who appreciates these cars. Email with valid phone number so I know you are serious and not a scam. I will return the call promptly. I am happy to discuss the car at length. Location is Seattle WA. Car is also listed locally. so I reserve the right to end this ad if car sells prior. Car is sold with no warranty. express or implied. as is. No dealers. trades. consigners. or out of country (USA) sales. Thanks for looking.
