Technical specifications, photos and description:
This auction is for a 1950 LHD MGTD project car.
The car was recently imported from the United States where it has seen very little use in recent years. It was sourced from Texas. nbsp;and appears to have escaped the fate of so many others.
Structurally the car is very sound with good. rust free bodywork. Underneath. the chassis is excellent and it all looks strong. although I did notice that the piece of wood is missing from the sill area beneath each door.
Mechanically the car starts instantly and runs very well with great oil pressure. The car isn't currently registered so I haven't been able to drive it on the roads. but I have done a few laps of our private driveway and it seems absolutely fine. As you might expect. the brakes are a little sticky from storage and are only what you might call 'half right'. In general. the whole car will obviously need work and recommissioning jobs to get it back into shape.
Topside the green paint is crazed and flaking in numerous places. no doubt a consequence of storage in a very hot climate. The car retains its original instrumentation and 'King of the Road' chrome headlamps and sidelights. The interior appears all complete. but as with the paintwork it will need renovation in places (See pics)
Vehicle is sold complete with US Title document & UK Customs NOVA certificate. nbsp;this confirms UK import taxes have been paid & facilitates registration once MOT'd.
In summary. an excellent candidate for rolling restoration or perhaps just take care of any mechanical work and drive 'as is'.
