Bought this car for myself but circumstances (my age!) mean I have no choice but to sell! If it doesn't sell. I have no problem with storing it for a couple of years. because it's an absolutely cracking car!

This is a good solid Mk1 BGT and a rare opportunity to acquire a supercharged BGT! Moss are now selling the supercharger kits for around £3000. and that doesn't include anything like the uprated distributor or anything like that – so. you're getting all of that. PLUS an excellently set up. very quick. fast road MGB thrown in for not much more!

Being a Mk1. narrow-tunnel car – this is the rarest of all MGBs. The car is MOTd until the 19th August 2014. The car underwent a re-commission in August 2013 at a cost of £700 at Entune MG Specialists in Bolton. having barely been used for 5 or so years before that. Since 2007. the car has covered under 5000 miles. There are loads of bills and receipts for the work that has been undertaken.

This is not a car for the purists! It is heavily modified. most significantly with the fitting of the Moss Supercharger kit (current cost around £3k). The engine is a +60 thous overbore. with a Piper 270 cam and a gas flowed unleaded head. The supercharger was fitted in 2008. but was never set up properly. and the car ended up going into dry-storage. The car went to Entune in Bolton in Aug 2013 to get it set up and running spot on. The car has a variety of other upgrades. including improved brakes. suspension and Minilite-style alloy wheels.

The car has been restored in the past and looks very solid underneath. Panel fits are generally good (but not perfect!) so it looks good. but is not near concours standards. The paint finish is really good. as you can see in the pictures. Obviously there's the off scuff/stonechip here and there. as it's been a while since it was sprayed. There are a couple of areas of bubbling – see pictures. but neither are ‘rot' as such. and are easily rectified for little money – and don't need to be worried about for the time being. Panel fits are generally good (but not perfect – drivers door could do with some adjustment to the shut-line. see pictures for yourself) so it looks good. but is not near concours standards. Mechanically in excellent shape

Anyway. down to the nitty-gritty of specs. which is what is most important with this particular example.

·         1868 cc rebuilt 18GG engine with Piper 270 Cam and gas flowed unleaded cylinder head (Main rebuild 2004 for previous car. transferred to this car 2006. Only done 10-15k miles since rebuild) 55psi when hot. and excellent compression. It's without doubt the most lively MGB I've ever driven. perhaps partly because of the…

·         Moss Supercharger! With K&N Filter. new carb and recommended Distributor. set up on rolling road when re-commissioning car (110 BHP at wheels at 4. 5k rpm – not bad for a B-Series!)

·         Alternator fitted. refurbished starter motor. and spin on oil filter conversion.

·         Kenlowe electric fan. which runs off a thermostat.

·         Stainless steel Falcon exhaust. which sounds absolutely glorious

·         3 sync overdrive gearbox (mechanically modified to only operate in 4th gear)

·         Front suspension fully rebuilt with Superflex Poly Bushes. uprated springs and dampers.

·         Front brake callipers rebuilt with new pistons and seals. stainless steel braided hoses and green stuff brake pads.

·         Alloy Wheels

·         Leather steering wheel. seats (from later MG BGT) and gear knob.

·         LED rear brake lights. including central strip brake light.

Panel fits are generally good (but not perfect!) so it looks good. but is not near concours standards. The paint finish is really good. and it hasn't even been cut and polished! Mechanically in excellent shape.

Just check my feedback. and you'll see that I'm a completely honest seller.  Do remember that there is no substitute for coming to see the car yourself.

I strongly recommend viewing the car if you plan to buy. I've described it as well as I can. It is sold as seen with no warranty. and it must be inspected before you hand over any money. All funds must be cleared before the car can be taken away. UK BIDDERS ONLY. PLEASE!
The car must be collected from my home in Hulme. Manchester. M15. If you have ANY questions – please ask them BEFORE buying.
