Manufactured in 1958 and first registered in Hawaii 2 May 1959.

This beetle is 95% original with only the headlining and front windscreen being replaced in 55 year life span and MOT / Tax excempt.

It is the original engine with massive amount of documentation for service records. registration and insurance details.

It is not perfect but in as original state as could be. there are scratches. dings. dents plus some crazing to the paint on the bonnet.

Ive owned this vehicle since March 2009 after importing it from the USA. It has been in dry  storage ever since and has only covered a few hundred miles since. current mileage is 85029.

This 1959 Sunroof Beetle was delivered to Volkswagen Hawaii Inc. Honolulu for W. G Morris on February 6th. l959. It was delivered to Mr. Morris with the dealer-options of the Leatherette interior and an added mirror hinge.

By 1960 it was shipped to Washington state where it spent the majority of its years.

The original window sticker. 2 original service booklets. . "tips for How to Care for Your new VW” booklet. and VW distributor and dealer booklets still are with it from day one to its present time.

This cool early Beetle features factory fitted sunroof with the correct Golde handle. early peanut front indicators. snowflake tail lights. original 2 toned 15” smoothie bug wheels. correct H pattern rear apron. correct flat tab front handle. ice pick door handles. original early steering wheel with the Wolfsburg horn button. rare original Kamei accessory ebrake grab handle. original chrome window trim all round. all of the original glass except the wind screen and the original radio block off plate is still intact.

The body is in great shape showing some minor wear but still looks great. The exterior was re sprayed in the original black many years ago but still gets comments from passers by.

The front bonnet has the typical yet minor kink but not as bad as some. The floor pan is in excellent condition and has been wax oiled.

The interior is extremely nice considering that the seat covers. door cards and rubber floor mats are the original since new. The headliner was replaced many years ago with pinpoint vinyl. The glove box liner is also the original. very clean and shows the cars gentle and caring life.

Mechanically it is stock 36 bhp. split case non-syncro first gear transaxle. still 6 volt electric system and it runs and drives as it should including the original manual choke cable is still functioning. Dunlop 5. 60 black wall ply tyres add a lot to the vintage appeal to this very cool Bug.

This bug deserves someone to take it out and cherish it. unfortunately i dont have the time. its spent the last few years sat in a garage. It starts every time and is a joy to drive
