OLDSMOBILE 442 HOLIDAY COUPE 1969 BLACK AUTO 7.5 LITRE V8 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION for sale
Current customer rating: (610 votes ) based onI have owned and enjoyed this classic american muscle car for nearly two years now but it is time for a new project. I am going for something British this time. so sadly it is time to say goodbye to the 442.
First imported into the UK in 1987. the car has under gone extensive restoration. The paintwork was completely stripped and repainted just over 2 years ago and it looks great today.
Rebuilt 7. 5 Litre V8 engine. H 400 transmission with B&W manual shift and 12 bolt posi-track rear end. Racing Fuel Cell to replace original fuel tank. Power Steering and Servo assist brakes.
Rear axle was very recently replaced just before I bought it and the car is running a LSD as it should be from factory. Full exhaust was replaced not long before I bought it as well so that is in top condition with no blowing or leaks.
Since owning the car. I have completed the following in the last 18 months approx:
- Completely new. fully restored interior - incredible job completed by the trimmers - interior was original cloth when I bought the car. and was very much overdue replacing.
- All door rubbers replaced.
- New inner wings - imported from the States
- New 4 barrel 600cfm Holley carburettor
- New engine mounts fitted last month
- New Starter Motor
- New Battery
- New Electronic Distributor / HT Leads / Plugs / Air Filter
- New Rev Counter
- New Volt Meter
- New Oil Pressure Gauge
- Water Temperature Gauge
- Bonnet Pins installed
- New Drive Belts
Overall the car is in excellent condition. both mechanical and cosmetically. With the 7. 5 Big Block GM Engine it also sounds as incredible as you would imagine. it will really get down the road.
The car is on Cragar Alloys. all are in excellent condition.
Uniroyal Tiger Paw tyres are in excellent condition with 6 mm tread all round.
I have only covered around 1000 miles since owning the car as I have been working on it and only used for shows during summer months. Car lives under multi layer. all weather cover when not out and about. Previous owner to me. based on MOT certificates and general conversation when buying the car. he only covered a few miles a year - less than 100 typically.
This must be considered to be one of the most iconic American Muscle cars - with the same A body as used for the Pontiac GTO. Buick GSX and the Chevelle Nova SS.
I have the Service Manual. Body Repair Manual. Holley Carb Manual and complete Parts Listing Manual.
The car is coming up to 45 years old this year and it is not concourse - odd little mark on the chrome here and there. but it is generally in top condition and viewing is highly recommended!
