1969 MG MGC Roadster

BEAUTIFUL AND RARE MINERAL BLUE MGC! 72 SPOKE WIRE WHEELS AND A 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE! 2-OWNER CAR MOST RECENTLY OUT OF ARIZONA! ONE OF ONLY 2. 83 ROADSTERS IMPORTED TO THE US!

In 1967. BMC decided to make a 6-cylinder car to one-up themselves and other British offerings with only four cylinders. The motor was straight out of an Austin Healey 3000. with 7 main bearings and a 2912cc displacement. The MGC was new for 1968 and featured a domed hood to accommodate the dual carburetors and enlarged radiator. as well as uprated brakes. beefed up suspension and 15½ inch wire wheels. The 145 hp motors could do 0-60 in 10 seconds and topped out at 120 mph! Only 4. 44 MGC Roadsters were built over the two years of production from 1968-1969. of which only 2. 83 were imported to the US!

We are thrilled to offer this 1969 MG MGC Roadster! Finished in a not-so-often seen shade of Mineral Blue. this car immediately announces its sporting intentions! The interior is done in Black with matching piping. a very nice complement to the exterior. Originally sold in Massachusetts. the second owner bought the car in 1976 and owned it until March of 2014! The car is fitted with a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Union Jack flags on the door panels. “MGC” stainless steel door sill plates. headrests. heater/defroster. front disc brakes with dual boosters. triple windshield wipers. front/rear bumper guards. luggage rack. tonneau cover and bag. jack with bag. British wheel wrench with case. and 72 spoke painted wire wheels wrapped in 165/80R15 Kumho tires! There is also a matching spare in the trunk! Characteristic of the 1969 cars was the slick fender mounted passenger side-view mirror.

The MGC was killed after only two years of production because it was such a substantial revision of the MGB that people had grown to love. The engine. despite making a substantial amount more power. added over 200 pounds to the front of the car. creating handling characteristics that some found undesirable. Today. the limited production of these cars has made them among the most popular and valuable MGs ever made. Just ask Prince Charles. who took delivery of one in 1969!

A two-owner car most recently surviving from Arizona. this particular C was restored cosmetically in 1989 and mechanically in 2003! To say it has aged well is an understatement. Only 5000 miles have been driven since the car was stripped and painted and even fewer since the entire motor. overdrive unit. and U joints rebuilt and replaced. The entire convertible top was also restored at this time and the paint on the top frame and the windshield frame also appear very fresh. The under hood appearance of this particular car set the standard for all MGCs we have come across. with excellent detail work and polished/gloss finishes of many components. This includes polished hood latch hardware. prop rod. brake boosters and return lines. heat shielding. alternator cover. carb oil canisters and brackets. Furthermore. the car comes with ceramic coated intake and heat-wrapped exhaust. gloss Coopers intake box and Smiths heater box. stainless steel brake lines and Lucas gold coil. The car has heavy duty hood insulation and KYB Gas-a-just front shocks. as well as a new PPG windshield. None of the reservoirs under the hood show any signs of age or yellowing. The exterior chrome is not only shiny but smooth to the touch. This MGC is fresh off an alignment and ready to be road tripped or shown immediately and will surely make a great investment for any enthusiast. Please feel free to ask any additional questions! Thanks for looking!
